The bucket of food was the hit here! This huge tray/bucket of food was brought to our table and oh my...lobster, crab legs, shrimp, chicken, steak, etc. My margarita was the size of my head too! Don't think there was a lot of tequila in it though...so mostly sugar, sweet and sour and a few shots of tequila. I wouldn't order it again at that price point with such a small amt of tequila. But our server was great and the food was yummy! Happy Hour there before dinner has some great deals as well (and the bartender was super friendly)
Delicious shellfish at Rockin’ Baja Lobster in Old Town! Great, laid back surf vibe with lots of seating and an outdoor, covered, dog friendly patio. We ordered the original Baja bucket for two with the lobster chowder and fried ice cream. Everything tasted amazing, especially the lobster tail. The mai tais were very tasty. A staff member came and offered free photos and post cards. There is $7 valet parking available. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating, and orders came out quickly. Recommend!
Stopped by Rocking Baja Lobster & Grill in Old Town San Diego for a quick lunch. The ambience was great and the food was good too. The tequila lime shrimp were packed with flavor—perfectly cooked with a zesty, well-balanced citrus kick. The lobster and shrimp bites tasted good: crispy, flavorful, and great for sharing. The corn ribs were a fun surprise, similar to the Elotes i have tried in many other mexican restaurants, creamy and rich in flavour. We also tried a few tacos, all solid with fresh ingredients and generous fillings, however felt these could have been made a little better. The seafood skillet melt stood out as a comfort dish done right—cheesy, hearty, and loaded with seafood, served hot and full of flavor. Lively atmosphere, good portions, and friendly service make this a great spot in Old Town for Mexican-seafood fusion and drinks. Definitely worth a visit when you’re in the area.
The restaurant experience was good, not much wait for a table for 2. We were given chips and had to get ourselves the salsa at the endless salsa bar. The food overall was okay, the portion was fairly small considering the price. The chicken, and meat were salty and the only great meal was the ceviche and it’s an appetizer 😂
Fun spot with a Louisiana-style kick! We ordered the Big Baja to Alaska bucket with extra shrimp. Great presentation and really tasty. It comes with the Lobster Chowder, rice and beans, a Cesar Salad, and fried ice cream. The lobster chowder was delicious, and the salsa bar with chips adds a nice touch. Lobster and shrimp were definitely the highlights, though the king crab wasn’t quite as good as expected. Overall, a fun atmosphere with great staff and solid seafood.
