This place is massive. The animals all seemed well cared for. The botanical were gorgeous. As with any zoo, food and drinks are expensive but I lived that we could take a back pack in with our own snacks. Stayed all day and still didnt see it all.
First time back here since I was a kid, and I had a blast! I would definitely recommend going to the tiger exhibit early in the morning, I got to see both tigers eat breakfast up close. My favorite part was watching Guadeloupe the hippo swim laps in her pool. The Skyfari was fun, and it’s included in the normal ticket which is great. Overall an incredible experience, and I really enjoyed learning from Zoo staff members about the animals! Will definitely be back!
visited the San Diego Zoo this past Saturday and had a great experience. The zoo was very clean and well maintained, and it was clear that the animals are well cared for. Their habitats looked thoughtfully designed, and everything felt organized and welcoming. There are plenty of places to eat throughout the zoo, including lots of vegan options, which was a big plus. Be prepared to do a lot of walking and make sure to stay hydrated, especially if you’re there for several hours. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely return.
Wonderful place to spend an entire day at the zoo. The animals that they have are second to none in the States. The zoo is well organized and marked. Their app can help navigate better since, it expansive. There are few cafes in the zoo but be ready to pay a hefty premium to buy anything. Bring your own food and have it at different sitting area. They have a gondola that runs through the middle of the zoo so that you can have the aerial perspective on how big the zoo is. We were able to see most of the animals during our time at the zoo. There is also a tour bus that you can take to see the zoo from a bus and not have to walk. There are carts and strollers available for young ones at the entrance. We dint see any lines when we visited and especially their panda bear is a rare attraction and can seemingly be very popular and have long lines. Overall we had fun at the zoo and our toddler absolutely loved it but be prepared to walk miles, wear comfortable shoes and pack plenty of snacks because its extremely expensive to buy anything at the zoo. The staff was really helpful and courteous.
We had such an amazing time at the San Diego Zoo! This iconic zoo is huge, spanning roughly 40 hectares with thousands of animals representing hundreds of species in beautifully landscaped, naturalistic habitats. One of the highlights for us was the tram ride on the upper level. It’s a great way to rest your legs, take in panoramic views of the zoo, and get your bearings before exploring more on foot. The overhead gondola (Skyfari) was another crowd-pleaser, gliding above exhibits and treetops with lovely vistas of Balboa Park and downtown San Diego. We got to watch the panda eat! which we hear is a rare and special sight! seeing them munch away on bamboo is truly memorable. After a full day of exploring and learning, we wrapped things up with delicious pizza, the perfect end to a zoo adventure that didn’t disappoint. From incredible wildlife encounters to scenic rides and educational experiences, this place truly delivers for visitors of all ages. We can’t wait to go back! 🐾
