When I say my experience with Sew and Glow was amazing, I truly mean amazing. Barbara did a fantastic job on my dress! I literally cannot say enough of great things about this shop. I purchased a pair of jeans that I needed to get hemmed pretty quickly for a photo shoot coming up this weekend. They were able to turn around my jeans in the same day. They offer a Rush option for an additional cost, which I highly recommend. Althea it’s kind and professional and should be a gifted craft person. I will be back for sure and recommend this to anybody looking for a place on the north side of Chicago.
I recently moved to Chicago from Cincinnati and was worried about getting a last-minute hem on a bridesmaid dress. I called Sew & Glow about a week before the wedding and they were confident they’d get it handled in time. The shop is lovely, and the woman who fitted me was as well. She made the process quick and easy. I came in on a Friday and pick up was scheduled for the following Thursday. My dress was ready on time + I was actually shocked at how reasonable it was (there’s a price list on their website, and they only charge a $15 rush fee). I felt confident, and so happy I chose to bring my dress here. Definitely will be coming back for future alterations! Thanks Sew & Glow!
I've had really wonderful experiences with the seamstresses at Sew & Glow. I ordered a dress that was too small and not available in a size up. The seamstress was able to let out the sides of the dress to fit perfectly, and were very open to my feedback and making changes to the bodice until I was 100% satisfied. In all of my experiences here, the seamstresses are detail oriented and happy to accomodate my questions & perfectionism. Also - the very comfortable and well designed space elevates the experience. 10/10 recommend!
As you can see in the first photo, my dress was a a bit too long, baggy in the neckline, and came over too far across the armpits. Sew & Glow altered it to fix all of those things (as seen in photo #2) and for a better price than some other companies quoted. And they steamed my dress to get wrinkles out. I work in the wedding industry and will def be recommending them to my clients. :-)
