Omg, I am blown away! We heard about David on Facebook and how amazing he is with kids who have sensory needs, so we decided to give it a shot and I am so glad we did. My 3-year-old hadn’t had a haircut in over 8 months because his last experience was extremely rough. We both left that appointment in tears. This time was completely different. David was fun, sweet, and truly knows how to work with children. He made my son feel comfortable and safe, and the entire experience was night and day compared to before. We highly recommend David! If you have a child who struggles with haircuts, book now…you won’t regret it 💙✂️ THANK YOU DAVID
I took my boys here for haircuts, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. My oldest son has special needs and does not like haircuts—we usually do them at home because it often involves a lot of anxiety, screaming, and restraint. I decided to try a haircut with David after hearing how great he is with neurodivergent kids, and it was a completely different experience. While my younger son got his haircut, my oldest was able to explore the salon and get comfortable at his own pace. The entire staff was kind, patient, and accommodating. David used clippers with a vacuum attachment, which helped tremendously. It’s also on wheels so he could move with my son as needed. Not a single tear was shed! I am absolutely blown away and can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you, David!
The best kids hair salon in Carlsbad! My son has had several haircuts at Sharkey's now and all have been consistently excellent!! Bailey is amazing. She gives my son the perfect haircut every time. Bailey is not only a great hair stylist but a beautiful artist too! Checkout the bathroom art she created for Christmas. This place is SO cute, all way down to the bathroom. My son loves sitting in the race car chairs and watching the TV. The balloon and lollipop at the end are so special. Everyone at the salon is always so friendly. Patient with kids!!! The receptionist is amazing. Very helpful. And the option for dip n dots ice cream at the end is a nice touch. Love this place. 5 stars all the way.
We had such a wonderful experience at Sharkey’s Haircuts for Kids! We brought our one-year-old in for his first haircut to finally trim his little baby mullet, and the whole visit was even better than we hoped. The staff was incredibly sweet, patient, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. Everyone in there (employees and clients) was all smiles. Our son got to sit in a bright red race car, which absolutely made his dad’s day (dreams really do come true!). Our daughter also had her nails painted, and it was the cutest thing ever. They truly go above and beyond to make it fun for the kids and stress-free for the parents. They were amazing at working with little ones’ short attention spans and constant wiggles. The haircut turned out great, and they even saved a lock of his hair, took a photo, and gave us a little “first haircut” certificate. Such a sweet memory to keep. Thank you Kaylea! It was a fun and worthwhile way to spend our morning, and absolutely worth the price for the experience. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend Sharkey’s to anyone looking for a great kids’ salon!
We had such a wonderful experience at Sharkey’s for my 4-year-old daughter’s haircut! David was absolutely amazing—so patient, kind, and truly great with kids. He made my daughter feel comfortable and special from the moment we walked in. Not only was he wonderful with her, but he’s also clearly a true professional when it comes to haircuts. He gave her the cutest layered haircut that looks fantastic and moves beautifully—exactly what I was hoping for. Thank you, David, for your talent, care, and for making it such a fun and memorable visit. We’ll definitely be back!
