We’ve taken our kids to Sharkey’s a few times now and have always had a great experience! The team does a really nice job making the haircut fun and comfortable for kids — from the themed car chairs to the shows and games while they’re in the chair. The stylists are patient and friendly, and our kids always leave looking sharp. It can feel a little pricier than a quick cut elsewhere, but the atmosphere and attention to detail make it worth it. Great place for a kid-friendly haircut.
This was my third and last time here. The last 2 appointments have been just awful with this same stylist, Tammy. I should have trusted my instincts after the first time but I figured since this time the cut would be extremely easy, I'd give it another shot. I requested that no hair be taken off the top and back, and only a small trim on his bangs. I wanted the sides of his head to be a pretty straightforward buzz and blending wasnt super necessary. She immediately started cutting inches off the top and then felt the need to keep attempting to blend it even though I repeatedly told her to stop. She did a terrible job and when i kept pointing out how the sides looked dumb, she couldnt comprehend it whatsoever so a different stylist came over to help and she flat out told me that we need to go see a barber. Not to mention that she repeatedly called my son "baby", which got really weird after the first 10 times, and although she said lots of kids move around a lot, she was visibly frustrated every time she had to stop because of it. I tipped both women very well because I felt bad for the issues, but we wont be returning.
We took our 2 year old son to Sharkey’s for his first haircut. Our son did a really good job and had fun sitting in one of the cars. The lady that cut his hair was very interactive with him and kind. The only negative I have is the price. The haircut was about 10 minutes and we were charged $43. We didn’t even do shampoo or anything extra. My husband’s haircut isn’t even this much… just disappointing. However, if you don’t mind the price, the experience like I said was very pleasant for our son.
Unfortunately, my daughter has received the worst bang trim of her entire life here. We drove all the way from oak harbor 1 1/2 hours away to experience a haircut from this place and sadly we will not be back. The staff was very friendly which is why I give you all at least 2 stars. However, I am not confrontational and I do not want to get the “stylist” in trouble but my poor sweet girls bangs are crooked, choppy, and not even. They are extremely short and nothing like I had expected with “just a trim”. My daughter was not difficult or fidgety and I should have been paying closer attention to what the lady was doing to my daughter’s hair, but sadly I had my other two kiddos and just trusted her. She cut my son’s hair great but apparently she does not know how to cut bangs. I would love a refund for at least my daughter’s haircut as we can not drive 1 1/2 hours back to get this fixed. I attached a before picture I just wanted it trimmed not chopped off, my daughter is upset and so am I. The experience was great, the haircut was not. Fun atmosphere but you need better stylists. These are our babies you are working on! For the price you are better off going elsewhere.
I posted a 1 star review after receiving a bad haircut for my child... But then, the manager reached out to me to offer a complimentary haircut for my son. I thought that was so sweet, because I was genuinely unhappy with his haircut. We will go back sometime in the future to get it remedied and then take it from there. Thank you to the Sharkey’s team for offering to fix the haircut. I understand that it can be difficult to cut babies’ hair. Still, a very expensive experience for kiddos. But I loved that they gave him a balloon and a certificate.
