I had an amazing experience at this yoga retreat. The coach, John, is truly great—knowledgeable, attentive, and inspiring. I learned so much about meditation and breathing techniques, and the retreat really encouraged me to look inside and learn more about myself. The phone detox (no cellphone) was especially powerful, helping me fully disconnect and be present in the moment. I left feeling more grounded, aware, and refreshed. The food was another highlight. Alina, the cook, prepared incredible homemade meals that were not only delicious but also nourishing and made with so much care and love. Every meal was a joy. I highly recommend this retreat to anyone looking for a meaningful experience of self-discovery, inner connection, and a true digital detox—along with exceptional guidance and amazing food.
John is a wonderful human. He provided his personal anecdotes along with scientific explanations giving us a deeper understanding of different practices (breathwork, meditation, yoga, ice baths, ect). I highly recommend his retreats. I left with an abundance of new knowledge, actionable steps, and friends. Much gratitude to you, John.
I have been to a variety of health and wellness retreats over the years. I love learning new ways to take care of the mind and the body. In these healing worlds there is sometimes rigidity and pressure to follow one path, the very same flavor of pressure from which people who often seek healing are trying to untangle themselves. What John offered, that was so welcoming for me, was, in his words "a choose your own adventure buffet" of modalities that are calming, grounding and allow us to connect more deeply to the feelings below the surface that are uniquely our own feelings that in turn allow us to create change. It was his flexibility to adjust course and meet us where we were at, that made this experience healing for me. Not only did he teach tools, some of which I am already beginning to incorporate, into my daily life, but he set the stage for all of the participants to come together as equals and share our own wisdom, humor and love with each other in a way that will be remembered for years to come. If you have hesitations of any kind, do know that you can talk with John and he will listen with humility and grace. I am very grateful for this retreat. ❤️.
I had a wonderful time at the cactus blossom yoga retreat. I was particularly impressed by the Breathwork program – it was intensive, profound, and yet safely guided, allowing me to fully open up. The food, freshly cooked by Chef Perla was excellent: varied, delicious, and perfectly tailored to the needs of the retreat participants. The lovely people I met there were particularly valuable – inspiring, friendly, and I can say I found true friends.. Also Johns two lovely dogs made the atmosphere even more cozy and welcoming. John himself was a fantastic teacher: competent, empathetic, and motivating. His calm manner helped me gain new perspectives and further develop my yoga. Overall, a thoroughly successful experience that I can warmly recommend to everyone.
My first Bali trip and retreat this year was an unforgettable experience! I made so many beautiful memories during this trip. From the moment I arrived until the last day, I was surrounded by wonderful people, beautiful scenery, and a sense of light and joy. John is very welcoming and has a special gift of bringing people together with care and intention even before the retreat started. Everything I experienced, the yoga, breath work, the food, and the outings in Ubud, was so nourishing and overall amazing. This retreat has definitely been the highlight of this year for me.
