Great experience with my child’s haircut, as expected from all the word of mouth recommendations! Doan (or might go by “Dawn”) was professional and warm, very skilled, and fast (took just 10 minutes). Kiddo loved the special fire truck seat! I also appreciated that pricing was clearly set out on the website. Would go back!
Great service Quite expensive
I would give 10 stars if I could! This was the PERFECT place to get my son’s first haircut and we will definitely be coming back. Doan is very talented and so good with kids. She was so patient working with my 18 month old and gave him a fantastic hair cut! I highly recommend!
We LOVE Soleil 21! Dawn (or Doan) the owner is an amazing hair stylist and has been cutting my family’s hair for about four years. We started with her when we got a recommendation for her awesome kids cuts. And eventually both my husband and I switched to her. She does a great job, is a good communicator and listens well to what you want done, and offers expert recommendations on what works for your hair texture, length, wave/curl patterns, cowlicks, etc. Plus it’s a small salon so I find it quite relaxing. Go have Dawn cut your hair, you won’t be disappointed!
I was really disappointed with my experience at Soleil... I really wanted to love it because it's so close to home and the prices were so reasonable compared to other places in the area. I got there early, expecting to wait and they were able to do my bikini wax quickly. The girl was very nice, it was my first time, and she was gentle. She did miss spots but I'm not that upset about it... There were lots of little inconveniences that started to add up. The waxing room had a robe hanging on the wall with a nasty yellow stain on it ... And it just didn't feel very clean. The people were nice, but I'm mostly upset about the hairdressers. My hair is short. It's practically a pixie cut and I provided a picture, one with just a few highlights on already short hair and they wanted to charge $120 that's insane for just a few highlights on pixie length hair... My hair is literally shorter than my ears. Anyway, I got the gentleman hairdresser, from El Salvador, I thought that someone who was Latin might know Latin hair... I guess not. My hair is thick so sometimes hairdressers get a little crazy with thinning it out and then it gets too short. He seemed okay. He complimented my texture. I showed him the picture but in hindsight he didn't seem to be paying attention to what I wanted. He went straight to cutting. He also talked way too much about politics and it was uncomfortable. Thats when I realized he was absolutely rushing... I asked multiple times that I wanted it rounded in the back, feminine. Not a masculine cut. The picture was exactly what I wanted. I left the chair feeling "eh". I didn't like the cream he put in, it felt sticky and I came home immediately and did my own hair. I've only been to 1 salon in my whole life where I left and didn't have the urge to do my hair when I got home. This was not that time. The thing that bothered me the most was when I got out of the seat, he said, "if you don't like it, it'll grow out..." like what? Did you just say that..? And then he told the receptionist $90, when on the website short hair is $50... I'm so disappointed I never want to go back. I felt completely disrespected and as a new customer, I think it's really important to make sure I'm super happy, or I'm just not going to come back... Not for how much they charge... I wish I didn't tip him as much. Below I have my before (by the water), what I asked for (girls with earrings) and what I got (very square masculine back)... :(
