We selected Sutherland Entertainment from MANY of the reviews, as well as a direct referral from our caterer, as one of our vendors for our corporate holiday event. The organization, ease of planning, constant communication, and amazing "extra's" to choose from - made our event one of the best our teams have ever had. We selected outdoor games, photo booth, extra lighting (which really made a difference), DJ (who Spencer himself mc'd) as well as the most AMAZING entrance with a live guitarist as guests entered the space. Truly top notch and highly recommend for ANY event.

Spencer was amazing! We were hesitant to book a DJ at first (as we were just going to be Spotify DJs ourselves), but we are so happy we decided to take the plunge. Not only was Spencer's set up extremely sleek, but all of the music he played got about 90% of our guests on the dance floor! I don't think there was a single song that turned people away. A good mix of classics, disco, and some indie-bops, just like we wanted. We also loved the planning process with Spencer. The spreadsheet he created was so helpful to us and to all of the other vendors involved in the day. When my husband and I asked Spencer 1 month before the wedding if he could play the guitar at our ceremony, he didn't hesitate to say yes! He also set up all of the uplighting, outdoor lighting, and mics/audio for the ceremony. Will be recommending him to all of our engaged friends in the area!

I have nothing but positive things to say about Spencer and his company! He was kind, organized, structured, and the glue that kept our wedding together. Honestly, I had no expectations going into our wedding about a DJ because I've only been to weddings where they're just "ok" at best. I was so surprised by how amazing my experience was because I have never witnessed such a good DJ! We didn't have a day of coordinator, but he did such a great job keeping the flow of everything all together. He has great suggestions and can go with the flow, but is not pushy or bossy at all. He can read the room and change the ambiance accordingly. We got married at the Brazilian room in Tilden (half inside, half outdoor), and he set up the microphones and speakers for the violinists and the person ordaining, he did the lighting, organized the catering and photography staff, and kept us on track. I honestly couldn't recommend anyone else that would be half as good as him. And everyone came up to us after the wedding and raved about him! No regrets!

Sutherland Entertainment made the process to plan and deliver great DJ services seamless. In the "planning stage" leading up to your big day, they have an easy-to-use platform to customize your music entertainment throughout the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Everything is reviewed and confirmed to make sure things are set up the way you like. DJ was on time and equipment was set up without any problems.

Spencer was great to work with for our wedding at the Brazilian Room this past September 2019. He gave us just the right amount of guidance to recommend how to have our event run smoothly, while still allowing us to make all of the decisions in the planning process. As part of the package, the forms they provided made the planning process and putting together song requests for the DJ super easy. Our DJ, Derek, was so personable and played just the right songs at the end of the night for our crowd. Also, Sutherland Entertainment is a preferred vendor for The Brazilian Room in Berkeley, so if you’re getting married there, they have a special package that’s discounted, which is a great deal. They also offer lighting services, which we took advantage of, and our venue looked absolutely beautiful that night.
