I took around 20 hours of lessons and had an incredible experience driving with Mr. Tesfu, as as well as his brother. I highly recommend this driving school, especially to nervous test-takers or drivers. He is very patient and calm, understands how to correct bad driving habits and helps you build up your confidence, even when you are struggling to believe you will be able to pass the road test. I've had experiences with other driving schools, and this one is by far the best, you truly feel like you are a team working towards a goal of better driving. He was a specifically great help with learning the tricks to parallel parking and maneuvering on the highway. And I was very grateful for the encouraging confidence he had in my skills, even when I felt demoralized and didn't believe in myself! By the time my test came around, I was finally confident and comfortable with the tips and routes it would take to pass (even though I am a terrible test-taker). The instructors were both empathetic, understanding and encouraging, making sure you were ready and comfortable with different maneuvers before trying trickier driving situations. They are also very familiar with the people and layout/process of the DC DMV which helps you feel less scattered on the day of. Overall 10/10!

Tesfu is a patient and professional instructor who explains things clearly and helps you fix mistakes right away. The lessons were calm, helpful, and really boosted my confidence on the road. I’d definitely recommend Tesfu Driving School to anyone learning to drive in DC or Maryland.

The instructor was a great help in getting me out of my comfort zone for the road. I felt at ease with no anxiety on the road and the overall experience was smooth. The parallel parking guidance and tips was perfect for the DC road test. I only took one lesson and was able to pass the parallel parking section on the first try thanks to his tips. I took the road test 2 days after the lesson and officially have my license now. It was worth the price and would definitely recommend for new/intermediate drivers that want to get comfortable for the DC/Maryland roads and traffic.

I passed my practical driving test today, and I want to give a big thank you to mr. Tesfaye! He is very humble, patient, and knowledgeable. He showed me every important thing I needed to know, and in just 4 hours he prepared me so well that I passed on my first try. His price is very reasonable, and he is always punctual. I really appreciate his teaching skills and calm attitude. I definitely recommend him to anyone who wants to learn driving quickly, confidently, and at an affordable cost!

I highly recommend this driving school. I went to Tesfu driving school after a poor experience at another driving school in dc and wish I went here sooner. As an anxious driver, Tesfu was incredibly patient and provided expert driving advice. Through his kind help, I was able to pass my driving test and become a more confident driver. The price of lessons is well worth it.
