Well meaning staff, although it’s a mess in there. In my experience, their prices for used parts are higher than many other bike non-profits I’ve shopped at (and worked in).
The final bill was higher than the initial estimate, and pricing transparency was lacking. - After servicing my child’s bike and my gravel bike, the child’s drivetrain performance very mediocre, and the gravel bike’s crank-arm repair looked questionable. - The advice to avoid rough ride for a gravel model wasn’t helpful. - I hope the shop adopts a clearer estimate process and higher-quality workmanship in the future.
EXELENTE! The best bike mechanics you can find. I was about to buy a new rim for my bike but they were able to help me straighten the rim, and they've been working on my bike since then. I'm very grateful and happy to have found them. They're all great!
They were quick and attentive in getting my inner tubes replaced, and generally pretty friendly. Unfortunately one of them went flat before I could even ride it and they were unwilling to replace it without cost or even a discount, citing “no shop does warranties on replacements.” Had a different bike shop help out and found the tube they put in was super thin for the tire size and had a hole in it. I’m sure they’re fine for most jobs and I appreciate their existence for the community, but probably won’t be back.
I bought my beautiful bike here a month ago when I moved to Oakland. I had a little problem with my brakes and my wheel came out of alignment so I went in. They were very kind and I got my bike back the same day even though they were really busy. I can tell how much time and care they put into fixing my bike because I didn’t know brakes could be that smooth. I will be returning there for all of my bike needs!
