Cleaning Authority had us complete a detailed intake form covering our house’s square footage and cleaning priorities. They later estimated that two cleaners would need approximately two hours to clean the entire house. Because they charge by the hour, this estimate was an important factor in choosing them. Before booking, they required an additional form asking what the cleaners should do if they ran out of time. We did not want any part of the house left uncleaned, so we authorized them to continue beyond the estimate if necessary, assuming it might take up to three hours and still be reasonably priced. On the day of service, we let the team in but were unable to remain in the house. When the bill arrived, we were shocked because they claimed the two cleaners needed six hours. We had expected a total of $300, yet the bill was over $800. No explanation was provided for the significant discrepancy, and the house didn't begin with any unusual messes. Given the huge gap from their own estimate and the fact that no one was present to supervise, it raises serious concerns about how the time was actually spent.

UPDATE: Regarding #3, there MAY have been some IT Issues with their email system and app using the feedback function. So I have a little bit of understanding that it may have seemed to Hollie like there weren’t any issues at first. As part of the conversation to better understand our complaints, she also said she didn’t mean to make us think we would get any prorated cost for the initial “deep” clean, where they only had access to about half of the house. Concerningly, she then asked if we would be willing to delete or edit this review in exchange for a refund on our last clean. Which I told her I believe is illegal to do. Like, very illegal. So that really cemented that we don’t want this company back in our house. ORIGINAL: Very disappointed with this company. 1. We are in the process of unpacking and we just had roommates move out, so for our initial deep clean, we were told we wouldn’t be charged the full amount as not everything could be reached to be cleaned. We were overcharged (and this still hasn’t been resolved). 2. The “deep” clean was not very good. The areas that were easily accessible and supposed to be cleaned really well were still dirty. Visible spots on the floor, pet hair along baseboards and in corners. 3. Follow-up cleanings were dismal. When we texted Holly to ask why these concerns weren’t being addressed, she said she didn’t get our multiple emails. Even though they were sent to the email we had from them. 4. Instead of trying to fix their deficiencies, Holly immediately canceled the contract. Still without a refund for the initial “deep” clean we were overcharged for. 5. They left our door unlocked one day! Very serious security concern there. Attached are pictures from a few hours after the most recent cleaning. What a sham cleaning service.

I have ongoing health issues that make deep cleaning hard. They went above and beyond to help me get my place fully clean.
