I arrived around opening hours and I'm so glad I did because the free parking here is very limited. There's construction going on in the area only allows around 10 cars in the adjacent lot. It's a tight fit also, only one way in. Other than that, there is street parking that seems to also fill up quickly due to the park nearby. Once on site, I was warmly greeted by an employee who directed me to admission. The Contemporary is free for members of NARM. I was given a map of the grounds and sent on my way. I don't know why I only expected a neatly manicured lawn with asphalt paths but that is not the case. While there are sidewalks and paved areas, there's a large section that goes through the woods with just a dirt path. I saw plenty of people taking advantage of the fact that dogs are welcome. I loved the wide variety of sculptures, the different mediums and how they integrated or stood out against the surroundings. There were paths with lights strung in the trees which I'm sure is striking to see in the evening when they're illuminated. I definitely recommend taking the time to explore for an hour or three. It was absolutely a beautiful experience.
I have great memories of summer art classes at Laguna Gloria. It’s a beautiful place to walk, enjoy the sculptures, and take in lake views. There’s a small entry fee now, but the café makes it worth it, a perfect spot for a sunny day.
Amazing natural walk with large sculptures among cypress trees on the water’s edge. Free on the first weekend every month with a Bank of America credit card.
Love this museum. It’s outdoors and there are pretty cool sculptures to check out. Pro Tip: It’s free Thursday’s go around 6:30 pm and grab pizza afterwards. 10/10 Sculptures 🗿
Very nice place! It was a good choice of placement for the lake was just in eye sight. Majority of art there were installations which I like personally the most. My favorite was “Looking Up,” by Tom Friedman which is the pinned tall aluminum man in the fountain area. A lot of the art was in the forest, and it was very relaxing and refreshing to go to an art museum that wasn’t indoors. Overall the experience was amazing, and they have an art school and summer camp for kids 4-17. I would suggest 10 out of 10 great place to go.
