Rob came to our home in October to help us with our dog, Milo, who was exhibiting behavioural/obedience issues and reactivity. Rob spent over 6 hours teaching us to apply a bunch of techniques, dog psychology and answered the many questions we had. Two months later we have seen some major improvements in Milo. His listening skills have improved in all aspects, he no longer needs his easy-walk harness and he seems to be calmer overall. We have yet to introduce him to new dogs but he’s had short interactions that are very promising! This has been a great experience for us and we appreciate all of Rob’s awesome help and expertise!

I cannot speak highly enough of my experience with The Dog Guy. If you're a dog owner—whether you're dealing with behavioral issues, subtle imbalances, or just want a stronger bond with your dog—this is the trainer you need. Rob follows the Cesar Millan approach, which emphasizes calm, assertive energy, clear communication, and understanding the psychology behind a dog’s behavior. But what truly sets him apart is his ability to not just train dogs, but to teach owners. Right from the start of the session, it became clear that my dog’s behavior was often a reflection of my own habits and energy. Rob helped me identify my dog’s specific personality traits and, more importantly, the ways I needed to adjust to become a better leader and companion. I went into the session thinking my 10 month old Boston Terrier was an aggressive dog as he was very reactive on leash towards other dogs—but within minutes, Rob calmly and clearly identified what was really going on: Jayce is a high-energy, fearful dog, not an aggressive one. That insight alone changed everything for me. From the very first greeting, Rob demonstrated a calm, assertive energy that Jayce responded to immediately. Within five minutes, Jayce was in a calm, submissive state—something I had never seen from him before. It was powerful to witness, and even more powerful to be a part of. But what impressed me most was how much Rob taught me in just one session. He didn’t just work with Jayce—he worked with me, showing me how my own energy, habits, and mindset were influencing Jayce’s behavior. Rob helped me recognize the adjustments I need to make to become a better, more confident leader for my dog. Rob immediately picked up on subtle personality traits in Jayce and explained how they connected to things I was doing (or not doing) as a leader. He gave honest, insightful feedback that helped me understand the energy I was bringing into the relationship, and how that affected Jayce's behavior. This session wasn’t just about fixing “problem behaviors.” It was about balance, respect, and developing the right mindset to lead with calm confidence. Rob's approach is not gimmicky or forceful—it’s intuitive, grounded, and incredibly effective. It’s clear he understands dogs on a deeper level, and he teaches you how to do the same. He gave me a wealth of practical tools and knowledge that I’m now starting to put into practice. I know this is just the beginning, but even with just one visit, I already feel like I’m on the right track. I’m excited to keep working with Jayce using what Rob showed me and to see how much progress we can make together. If you own a dog, you owe it to yourself—and your pet—to work with someone like Rob. This isn’t just dog training; it’s life training, and it makes all the difference. Whether your dog is hyper, anxious, reactive, or just needs better structure—Rob The Dog Guy is the real deal. This isn’t just dog training. It’s relationship training—and it works. Thank you Rob! Francine and Jayce

I reached out to Rob to get some assistance with our three year-old golden doodle, Leo. Leo is a wonderful dog at home but is very reactive on the leash to other dogs. Rob spent time with me on the phone giving me some tips and tricks on how to deal with this behaviour which starts inside the home. He then spent over three hours in an in-home consultation going through everything and giving us some advice on how to become the pack leader. Since then, we’ve seen a lot of improvement with Leo’s behaviour. Although he is still reactive at times, there’s been quite a bit of improvement. Rob still reaches out from time to time to get an update on how things are progressing and continues to provide support. Now it’s up to me to practice and make sure that I use the advice that Rob provided me. We’re very grateful to have had the services of Rob (theDog Guy).

We have welcomed Cooper into our home from Valley Animal Rescue, he is a Whoodle, mixed breed of Wheaten Terrier and Poodle. Cooper is fun loving, comical and has been so much fun for us. The pros are he loves every dog he meets, he absolutely adores playing with kids and is becoming very loyal. The cons, he’s too friendly and jumps up on people, he surfs the countertops for food and needed some general behavior tips. Robert came to OUR rescue. We spoke at length on the phone and he recommended some strategies for us to try and they are working. It’s like watching an episode of Caesar Milan and his strategies work instantly, well this is Robert! I would highly recommend his services to anyone who needs expert dog guidance! 10/10!
