Tasty! Although honestly the portions were smaller than expected, especially for a southern restaurant -- but it's also SF, so idk. The chicken and waffles were filling, and the hype about the Mac and cheese is understandable (although not as good as Homeroom according to my partner, he's a big fan of Mac and we visited here for his bday). The muffins are TINY lol (see pic), so price makes sense for the quantity I guess? The bready sides were solid, and the apple jam was quite tasty (preferred over the rosemary better). With tip, about $100 for 2 The service is phenomenal! Friendly and attentive with drink refills. The decor is fun and nice too, so the cost could be worth the experience if you care about these more than food. We had leftovers, but probably could've finished everything They also have a deal for apps and drinks until the 20th (?), and I believe it was a couple dollars off 1hr after open? Sunday-Thurs! We went on a Monday evening around open and it was not busy at all

I love the front porch. It may in fact, be one of my top favorite San Francisco restaurants.I come here with large groups of friends and for one on one conversations. I’m a big fan of the fried chicken and frankly think it’s the best in San Francisco. Also their mashed potatoes mac & cheese and collards are phenomenal. Their menu changes regularly, but they always have the staple of the fried chicken. If you’re lucky you’ll come on a night when there’s a gem salad or fried pickles. They make great cocktails. I love the okey-dokey artichoke and the Porch swing. One time I ventured out and tried a drink I didn’t like - and they replaced the drink no questions asked. The atmosphere is homie with a little bit of old school vibes. The staff are amazing and very welcoming. I never was a big Dessert person until I ate the pecan pie here!

25$ for 3 small pieces of burnt chicken and 1 dry waffle. I believe this doesn't justify the taste or quality of food for this price range. Besides that, the staff is very accommodating and the atmosphere is nice.

So everyone knows now that I am a foodie. I have been here several times without posting a picture of my food. Today I purposely am doing so because this place although hidden away by a alley is a gem in the Mission area. I arrived around 6p.m after my Art Gallery event in Castro. It was packed only seating was @ the bar, I ordered a charbroiled Angus burger with loads of blue cheese with Cajun fries. I also order a refreshing and unusual cocktail with bitters called "Respect your Elders" made with Elderflowers and European bitters . It was so disarmingly good and subtle. That burger was perfectly done with all the fixings and a variety of hot sauces on the side, those fries were crispy and delicious. I was pleasantly full. Next time I got to try the fried chicken with Mac & cheese and collard greens on the side. The patron next to me said it also is delicious. I would give this restaurant a 10 just for the food but, the staff and owners get some love for making people feel welcomed.

Great vibes. Food was overall pretty good but no standouts. We tried the baked Mac and cheese (pretty standard taste), the cornbread was dry, the gumbo a little watery. The fried chicken was done very nicely though. Dive bar vibes
