I’ve used Dave 3 times and every time I’m very satisfied with their work. One plumbing, one electrical and changed a hot water heater. Can’t recommend them enough.
Dave and his crew are lifesavers and now new friends! We were introduced to The Helpful Handyman through our realtor, and I’m not sure what we would have done without them. We bought a home built in 1969, and so many unconventional attributes required us to think outside the box to get the results we wanted. The level of expertise, detail, and professionalism never wavered. They are trustworthy and offer fair and competitive pricing. Thanks for everything, guys!
To begin, the guys who came and did the work were excellent. The owner/manager is where my problem is. I called to get a quote on installing two 4x4 hanging garage storage racks. At first he said he needs to come out to do a quote. I repeated it's straight forward. Two hanging storage racks. You see these all the time in garages. And I'd expect a handyman company to be familiar with something so straight forward. But I said surw, come out if you want. Instead he quotes me $100-200 over the phone. When the guys finished and wrote up the invoice it was for $550! 3x the quote!!! The guys called the office and the owner/manager basically started yelling at me over the phone that he needs to come out to give an accurate quote. I asked him then why he didn't do that. If he felt he needed to come out, it's his reaponsibility to do so before giving me a quote. It's his business. In the end he charged me $200 and told me never to call and do business with them again. Great customer service there, man. Glad to see you treat people like crap who simply call in good faith to get a quote and then agree to your quote and have you do the job. Every reasonable person on earth expects to not be charged 3x your quote. At least he stuck to it in the end after treating me like this. My advice with these guys: get a quote in writing before you have them out to do the work. And confirm the quote before the guys start work. Otherwise the owner/manager might scold you for not doing his job for him.
The Helpful Handyman has been fantastic to work with! Their response time is incredibly quick, which is a huge plus when managing multiple properties. Dave is professional, reliable, and their pricing is very competitive compared to other handymen I’ve worked with. Knowing I can count on them for quality work at a fair price gives me confidence in using their services moving forward. Highly recommend!
I was so lucky to have been referred to Dave and his team. I needed a full re-piping of my old house and they we so nice to me and worked with me for seriously the best price in town. Dave and the entire team were so caring about my situation. What a great group of guys. They were all just so wonderful and efficient, I really can't thank them enough.
