What a charming and surprisingly large used bookstore with enthusiastic staff ready and willing to help you hunt down a list of ten books! We were able to find two out of ten, which is a lot considering the books were fairly random and this is a used bookstore, not Barnes & Noble! Very proud to support local. Please don't order from Amazon until you've exhausted local resources like The Iliad first! The staff are always willing to help, plus, it's a fun adventure trying to find books this way.
The kind of bookstore I remember from when I was a kid. Tons of books so I many you have to actually spend time and browse! So much good stuff we have to go back again (and again). Lots of random finds you won't see anywhere else, books old and new. Great staff so SO helpful! Super cute kitties! Permanently on our Must Visit When In Area list!
First time visiting and it was an amazing experience. The book selections and prices were great! But the best part were the cats! Apollo and Zeus! The place is well maintained and the cats were an extra bonus!
Awesome! Overwhelming! Magical! Definitely an experience. Lots of rare out of print books. Many are not at bargain basement prices, but all books in the giant floor stack by the cashier run $1-$5 each. You can find some gems in there. Friendly owners and their kitties - Apollo and Zeus. Apollo has a lot to say. If you're a book and cat lover, this store is for you.
I had not walked into the Iliad Book Shop since they were at their old location in North Hollywood. This new location is honestly so much better. It's more accessible and with better parking. The book selection has only grown over the years. There are so many relatable and obtainable books now. Which was really nice was seeing many twentysomething young people in there. Hip, cool people enjoying books! What a lovely concept. What was also quite endearing are the two kitty cats that make the place so cozy and warm. One of them is Apollo and he likes to hang out at the front desk. I didn't get the other cats name, but he's gray and likes to lounge on the couches in the back. They have a extensive graphic novel collection including manga. Parking is plentiful.
