Been to many Kegs before but this one tops it! Usually you get a very corporate environment but the one in Montreal Vieux port had a very cozy feel to it and a different interior design. The staff was very friendly and welcoming and the food was excellent! I am not a steak guy but had to pull the trigger once i saw the “Chicago style” which basically add a mildly burnt crust with a perfectly cooked medium rare interior - it was the perfect Christmas dinner! Highly recommend this location 10/10
We tried a few dishes and everything was amazing. The New York Striploin was cooked perfectly — juicy, tender, and full of flavour. The New York Peppercorn was also delicious, especially with the creamy peppercorn sauce. Definitely one of my favourites! We had a bottle of La Petite Perrière Pinot Noir (2024) with our meal, and it paired beautifully with the steaks. For dessert, we had the Billy Miner Pie, and it was the perfect finish — mocha ice cream, chocolate crust, fudge, caramel, and almonds. So good! Overall, great food and great service. Highly recommend trying both New York steaks and ending with the Billy Miner Pie!
We are celebrating our 25 year anniversary and we went to the lovely Keg in Montreal and our server Angelo was perfection he was attentive and charming. He was knowledgeable and then came the food from the shrimp cocktails to the fresh salad then our steaks. The steak melted like butter and the taste fantastic and the season vegetables danced in my mouth. When you can make beets taste buttery and not like dirt you notice. I will definitely be returning when I am in Montreal next time. I haven’t even had dessert yet , I had to share our experience. Thank you Keg team!
Love the quality of the steak, fresh & delicious food, satisfying onion soup ! Like the vegetables salad! Clean toilet! All the experience wad so good & we are going to repeat it!
The Keg never disappoints! Spent the day as a tourist in our own city celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary. Decided to have dinner at the Old Mtl location. Service was excellent and Antoine our waiter was gracious. He took the time to explain the lobster specials and the types of meats and suggested ordering the meal differently to save money with my salad appetizer. We were toasted with bubbly to start followed by Caesar salads which is a specialty of theirs and fresh sourdough bread and garlic butter. We both had sirloin with mashed garlic potatoes accompanied by a bouquet of green beans and roasted beets. My dish had the added lobster crab asparagus hollandaise sauce. It was delicious and 1/2 of it came home. Service was excellent and the sound level was great. Not loud as other locations. Highly recommend this location.
