10 out of 10 recommend. First when you walked it is very welcoming and Josh was very nice. Second he gose through the instructions and rules thoroughly. Third when we got in the room the props and decoration were fantastic. Fourth when we needed help he did not get mad instead he was calm and helpful. Lastly when we did not make it he showed us where and how we would do it which made a lot more sense. All of this made it a good experience and a good family thing to do. Josh was such a delight and was extremely encouraging. Thank you Josh for a wonderful experience as this as you know was our 1st time ever doing an escape room. You made us feel like family

If you’re looking for one of the most immersive and well-designed escape room experiences in Kentucky, The Lair in Louisville is absolutely phenomenal. From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place was created by people who genuinely care about the experience. The atmosphere is incredible…every room is thoughtfully designed with cinematic detail, clever puzzles, and a level of immersion that makes you forget you’re in an escape room at all. It feels more like stepping into a movie or interactive story than solving a series of puzzles. What really sets The Lair apart is the creativity and craftsmanship. The puzzles are challenging but fair, and they require real teamwork and problem-solving rather than random guesswork. Each challenge flows naturally into the next, which keeps the entire experience engaging and exciting the whole time. You can also tell the owners put a tremendous amount of effort into the environment itself. The set design, lighting, sound effects, and props are all top tier; far beyond the typical escape room setup. Every detail contributes to the story and tension in the best possible way. The staff were fantastic as well; welcoming, passionate, and clearly proud of what they’ve built. They took the time to explain everything clearly and made the whole visit feel special rather than rushed. Whether you’re going with friends, family, or coworkers, The Lair is easily one of the most unique and memorable things you can do in Louisville. Even if you’ve done a lot of escape rooms before, this one stands out. Highly recommend. We’ll absolutely be coming back to try the other rooms.

The Lair Escape Room is well worth your time and effort. The owner was so helpful and courteous. The props were outstanding and the design and ambiance of each room was stellar. I am a certified "scardey cat" and I was definitely scared the props were going to come to life. If you love escape rooms, you should definitely check out "The Lair".

This was such a fun and challenging experience! My wife and I did the cathedral room, which is posted as intermediate difficulty. It was a good challenge without feeling impossible to solve. The atmosphere of the room was immersive with well-done props and did a good job of making you feel like you were really in the setting. The owner, Josh, was friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend!
