My wife and I went with McCann thinking we would get a knowledgeable realtor. Instead we got a person who would echo whatever we thought to make a sale. Now that I purchased my home and have become more informed about row homes I am shocked I listened to have the stuff our Realor Asa Kurland had to say about comps and the state of the house. I over payed for sure and should’ve been much more conservative and understood the ages of Windows, lintels, siding, and pay more attention to the quality of renovation. I saw we had an open chimney with the neighbor and in my ignorance listened to him and the inspector tell me I just needed a cap. Not considering what kindof damage open rain could have done to a home in the decades it was exposed. In my last 3 months of owning a row home I learned I would have not purchased it at this price and would have used better comps. Not sure how a realtor who worked years in Philly would be so uninformed. He pushed me to not go for full credit when I should have gone for lower price plus credit. Inform yourself before buying a house and use these realtors just to make an offer.
