From the moment we first visited The Old Library, we knew it was the perfect venue for our engagement party — and it exceeded every expectation. The space itself is stunning: a beautifully restored venue in a central location, complete with everything you need for a memorable event — a well-stocked bar, an easily accessible kitchen and serving area, and of course, the all-important dancefloor! Digbeth is a fantastic backdrop too, offering plenty of character and great spots for pre-event photos. But what truly set the experience apart was the team. Rebecca and her colleagues were incredibly helpful and responsive throughout the planning process, always happy to arrange visits and answer questions so we could shape the celebration exactly as we imagined. And on the night, Nikki and the team were exceptional — thoughtful, attentive, kind, and dedicated to making sure everything ran seamlessly. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Old Library for your special moments. A huge thank you to the entire team for helping us create an unforgettable evening.
This is an excellent and versatile venue. We held a great joint birthday and anniversary party, with around 100 guests. We used a number of the preferred suppliers, who did an amazing job and made sure the venue had a great vibe. Paul James Promotions were excellent in sourcing all the equipment, lighting and decorations we needed. And making sure it was set up in good time. Their DJ was brilliant on the night and nothing was ever a problem. As a drag artist, we couldn't have asked for better than Pork Elizabeth Pie. She made sure the party atmosphere started from the outset and continued throughout the evening. And Digbeth Catering Co, did a great job - both with the food and the late bar. The staff at the Old Library were great from the outset, helping us plan and reminding us when decisions needed to be made. And having a host on the evening was particularly useful. They helped to ensure that the evening flowed as it should. Overall we'd highly recommend the venue to others, particularly if you're looking for something unique and in a very cool part of Birmingham.

We used the Old Library for an anniversary party recently. The venue is absolutely beautiful, we had the ceiling decorated by shiny people and then did our own table decorations. When the lights were on in the evening the room looked stunning and we had so many compliments on how beautiful the venue is. We found the communication with all staff very smooth and they were quick to respond when contacted. Special mentions to Rebecca who helped us organise everything, Laura who helped us when we were decorating the venue, and Emily who was there on the evening of the party and made sure everything was running smoothly! From the initial viewing to the day of our wedding, the communication from the old library was perfect! It’s such a beautiful venue and was just what we wanted for our twilight wedding. Rebecca and Laura were so helpful throughout our wedding journey, especially as our day got closer. On the actual day they couldn’t have done any more for us. It truly was the best day for us and we wouldn’t have changed a thing. We went for minimal decor and yet it still looked and felt amazing. We had food from the old crown next door and this was honestly the best decision, it was 10/10. Thank you to everybody at the old library for making sure our wedding was everything we wanted and more!
