Rob is amazing! I cannot thank him enough for making my reception smooth and stress free! His customer service and experience with event management was beyond my expectations. He did not disappoint! The Pearl is lucky to have him!
I helped arrange and host a company Summit with approximately forty employees from four continents. Rob, the Hospitality and Event Manager, was an absolute professional. He worked with my team and me to ensure that the setup met our needs for presentations, breaks, and meals. He saved one of our lunches by calling a vendor who had an incorrect time, allowing them to recover with minimal delay. More importantly, Rob went above and beyond for one of our employees with handicap parking needs, acting as a personal valet and ensuring continuity of care for one of our evening dinners at Amore. A top-notch experience with the venue was made even better with exceptional staff like Rob.
Food was terrible. Meat was dry, veggies were cold and potatoes weren't even cooked! Not sure if they were short staffed or what but we didn't get our food till after 7:30. Had to stand in lobby area for an hour before they even opened up the room. I felt bad for some of the older guests having to stand that long. The decorations were nice not sure if that was the brides family or the venue staff that did that and the bartender was nice but otherwise I was disappointed. Parking was also an issue. Definitely wouldn't recommend.
We held our company holiday party (~115 people) at The Pearl Event Center and were delighted with the care and attention-to-detail provided by all staff. The Events Manager understood our needs, made recommendations for the space, was attentive and flexible when a few plans changed, and was in regular contact with our food vendor and DJ. We couldn't have been happier, it was a lovely evening in an incredible space!
This is a BUT review (simmer down, one 't'). Awesome facility, and a wonderful addition to our rapidly improving downtown area. Fort Wayne just keeps getting better and better! Now for the but. As a venue it is seriously lacking. Any theatre or performance hall must have at least one of two things: either an elevated stage or a rake (gradually elevated seats receding from the stage), or preferably both. Since this facility has neither, it is all but impossible to see the majority of what is happening on "stage" from many of the seats. I get it - they need the space to be flexible, etc. - but I can't see (literally) ever going there for any kind of performance again, let alone one that is general admission & with virtually all the best seats already reserved! Sorry for the brutal honesty, but there it is. And it wasn't just my take, if you catch my drift. Still, as what looks like the first review I will have to go with four stars because Pearl Arts is clearly more than a performance venue, and the whole facility is darned impressive, wonderfully done, etc.
