I have been a customer of this boutique since 2020. I went in on Black Friday to make a purchase and support a local small business. I was not told at the point of sale that returns / exchanges were not allowed on Christmas merchandise, otherwise I would not have purchased it. I was even going to make a purchase of a candle so the actual money returned to me would have been minimal. Since I wasn't allowed the return, I didn't make the additional purchase and I won't be back to shop there. A verbal of their seasonal merchandise return policy should have been done at the point of sale, in my opinion. As a result, the business has lost me as a customer and I will no longer recommend them to my clients like I have in the past. Reply to the owner's response: A verbal was not given at the point of sale. In fact, it was admitted yesterday when I was in that it was known that a verbal wasn't given consistently that day because other customers had the same experience. Once it's purchased, it doesn't really matter that it's on the receipt because there isn't an option to change anything at that point, per your policy. The return I was trying to make was a massive $34.38 after the discount from Black Friday. Take into consideration I was also making a purchase, the net balance for the store would have been a debit on my end and more money for the business. Being short sighted of the bigger picture is unfortunate.
The Urban Market is perfect for finding that "special outfit" and the staff there is so helpful. While the clothing is fabulous, it is also a great place for gift ideas. Beware! The decor items are beautiful and it's almost impossible to leave the store without a whimsical pop of style for your home. Gets me every time!
Absolutely love shopping at The Urban Market! They have such cute clothes and home goods and you can tell the buying team has impeccable taste. I've never left empty-handed! If you're up for a day of retail therapy in Louisville, make The Urban Market your first stop!
I am a Black consumer. I went into the store to test the atmosphere because of a couple of reviews that were posted. My Husband and I were greeted by both associates as soon as we walked in. We felt very welcome. If you had a bad experience with them before - please try them again! All I can say is cute, cute, cute store! Different styles of clothing and trinkets to choose from. The jewelry section was.. amazing😍 I was told about sales going on that day and the associates engaged with me while we shopped. I like that one of my jewelry purchases will help to end human trafficking. I will be back. Thank you for making me and my Husband feel welcome!
The Urban Market is my new favorite for one of a kind gift items, home décor and accessories. A beautiful, warm and inviting environment to shop and enjoy all of their beautiful and unique pieces. The staff is exceptional- courteous, friendly and ready to offer ideas and suggestions. You definitely want to stop by and see all the wonderful things they have to offer!
