I was able to observe. They accept all types and ages for their form of Martial Arts. Regrettably, I can not participate due to a severe form of Cervical Spinal Disease, my SportsMed doctor will not give me clearance, due to my physical condition. However, if you want a superior place to train, they are it. I, personally, have studied Hap Ki Do since 1975, but I use Tai Chi Chuan to practice now, it requires no contact. But if you are looking for a superior school, check them out!
We absolutely love this place! Everything is new, clean, and very well designed. The air quality and lighting are excellent, which makes it super comfortable. It’s very family-friendly, and the staff are incredibly professional and welcoming — they really make the whole experience even better. The only small downside is that T-Mobile signal doesn’t reach here. That’s not the place’s fault, of course, but we ended up getting Xfinity Wi-Fi access for $10/month, which works well for internet and Wi-Fi calling. It would be nice if free Wi-Fi were available, but honestly, this is such a minor thing compared to how great the place is overall. Highly recommend — a wonderful spot with a great atmosphere and excellent people!
Taekwondo isn't just for boys! I have two girls in Tiger Rock-- I wanted them to learn some self defense and confidence before they went out into the world on their own. We've been going a year now and out of all the extra curricular things they have tried, this is the one that will serve them best in life. Mr. McKay and Mr. Freeman have been their main instructors this past year and we absolutely love them both. They take the time to talk to the parents and have relationships with all the kids. Some of the things you will learn at TR is how to break boards, how to spar, how to kick and punch correctly (on target pads and bags), and how to take a win AND a loss (tournaments). The kids do pushups, burpees, throw weighted balls sometimes, run, jump, etc. It's great exercise! and honestly the biggest thing you'll learn is confidence. 👍 Sooo important for kids to have! I believe all kids should be in martial arts. There are a good mix of boys and girls, I'd say almost 50/50 so don't let the fact that you have girls keep you from trying it. Oh and if you are an adult, you can go too! There are adult classes and they always say it's never too late and you're never too old ☺️
Tengo dos niños, de 9 y 11 años, que asisten a Blackburn’s Tiger-rock desde septiembre de 2018. El señor Blackburn es un instructor muy capacitado, enérgico y apasionado. Él no solo enseña habilidades de artes marciales, sino que también incluye una variedad de actividades y ejercicios en su clase para desarrollar la agilidad y las habilidades de flexibilidad de los niños. Me alegra mucho ver cómo mis hijos están mejorando en sus habilidades físicas y también en su crecimiento mental. ¡Recomiendo encarecidamente esta escuela a cualquiera que esté buscando una excelente escuela de artes marciales!
Nuestro hijo ha asistido a la escuela del señor Blackburn durante 2,5 años. Es la única actividad a la que se ha mantenido y en la que realmente disfruta trabajar. Luke Blackburn ha tenido una influencia tan positiva en nuestro alumno de sexto grado al promover la concentración, el trabajo duro y la responsabilidad, lo que ha resultado en un nivel mucho más alto de confianza en sí mismo. Recomendaría encarecidamente Blackburn’s Tiger Rock a cualquiera que tenga hijos y esté buscando una actividad en interiores durante todo el año que ofrezca mucha flexibilidad de horarios.
