I debated posting this but I feel like after paying $80 and having to look at nails for the past two weeks other people need to know what they are getting into. The first photo was from the day I got my nails done. A complete wreck. Shape is terrible and the length is uneven. No problem I went home and reshaped them to the best of my ability as obviously I’m not a licensed nail tech. The last two pictures are 2 week grow out. The flooding of my cuticle with acrylic is very obvious. Again $80. I will never be back and will be sure to let everyone know my experience and the quality I received.
Joe did an amazing job with my nails, did an amazing job with the design all by hand. he was funny and made the overall experience feel real and fun. Will 10/10 go back to him when I need a fill
This was my first visit and I couldn’t be happier. I had been going somewhere else where the staff was dismissive and wouldn’t work with me on my l ski slope nails. I decided to give this place a try, and I’m so glad I did. My nail tech, (O-A-H-N, pronounced “wanh”), was incredibly patient and attentive. She took the time to really understand what I wanted, and carefully worked with me to figure out the exact length, size, and shape I had in mind. I never felt rushed, which made the experience so much more enjoyable. The salon itself was welcoming. I noticed right away that both the clients and the nail techs seemed genuinely happy — which, if you’ve been to enough salons, you know is not always the case. The owner also came by multiple times to check in, not just with me but with other clients as well, making sure everyone felt comfortable and confident about their choices. That extra level of care did not go unnoticed. As a first impression, this experience went a long way. In fact, I even canceled my appointments with an independent professional I had been curious about because I preferred the vibe and quality here so much more. Definitely recommend — I’ll be coming back!
This was my first time visiting Today’s nails so I can only speak of the service I experienced with the nail artist that did my manicure. Her name is Salem. Some background: I came here because the gel manicure from another salon was already puckering around the edges of my nails after about a week and because the nail technician at the other salon did not seem responsive the first time around, and because that business seemed more concerned with quantity of customers over quality, I decided to try a different location. I am very happy with my decision. If it’s possible to post an update in about a week to compare results, I will. However, I will insert here a brief comment that even without a comparison of the manicure in a week, the customer service received today from Salem was so refreshing compared to any other nail salons I’ve visited in the US. Her process is fast, but her attention to detail and personality are first class. When Salem (my new preferred nail artist ANYWHERE) saw my nails, she explained that the reason for the gel detachment around the edges is the original nail tech (at a different salon) did not properly remove the cuticles before gel application. Instead, the original nail tech painted on top of my cuticles. Not only did Salem thoroughly manicure my cuticles, and apply the gel with reassuring precision, she was so sweet about accommodating little requests like removing the bottom of the UV light machine. (The original salon used the same UV light for feet and hands, then seemed insulted when I requested they place a paper towel over the bottom of the machine before I put my hands inside). This is a long review, I know, but for anybody else familiar with the customer service and indifference experienced in most nail salons; the knowledge and pride that Salem exhibits in her craft is a perfect example of exceptional customer service and outstanding professionalism. *** 1 Week Update: my manicure looks almost as if I just left the salon. It has obviously grown out a little but there’s no puckering at the cuticles and chipping or separation at the edges despite an active lifestyle. High quality manicure ❤️***
I’ve actually debated writing this review for about a year, but I figure people should be aware what kind of service they’re in for here. I used to periodically go to Todays nails for about 3 years for pedicures and acrylics. I never ended up seeing one tech repeatedly since I didn’t have my nails done too often. The last time I went my nails ended up not being what I wanted/ had asked for. All different shapes, there was a design I was charged extra for and did not want, and some were super thick. I have a hard time speaking up for myself, and there was some language barrier with me and my tech, so I did not say something before leaving and I should have. I ended up returning the following day and showing them the things I didn’t like. The man that spoke to me was immediately dismissive and rude, and was basically like ‘what do you want me to do about it’. I asked if I could have a refund for the set, and just get them removed. I have really thin nails, and I didn’t think the process could be done to fix them without doing damage. I get full sets more often now, and know that there are ways to reshape nails without a full removal, but the man there did not explain that to me. Instead he became almost aggressive with his tone and snapped at me that no, they won’t do that. He told me ‘we can redo them or you can leave’. I was scared that my nails would be too damaged from redoing the entire process, but aside from that I was shocked at how he was treating me, and I started panicking. I didn’t know what to say, and I had to go outside to my car for a few minutes because I was having a panic attack. I don’t handle confrontation well, and I ended up crying I was so nervous. When I was able to go back inside the gentleman I was talking to ignored me completely. Another employee removed the set, and I asked that they please let the owner know how the gentleman that spoke to me when I first came in treated customers. Oh! And they charged me to remove them. I left $180 poorer including tips, and with damaged nails. Had I been talked to like a person who deserves some respect, this would not have been a big issue. He could have simply explained, seeing as I was a customer, but instead he chose to be nasty. I won’t go back for anything, and I’ve warned all my friends to do the same.
