Staying on this island is an experience like no other. Super comfy well equipped accommodation, sauna, hot tub, spectacular views and plenty of water and off the island activities. Jessica and Darek are super nice hosts. Highly recommended!!!
This retreat was skillfully, facilitated and provided participants with both depth and the freedom to participate as much or as little as we wanted. The setting is an absolute paradise, and the food was so fabulous and nourishing. Our rooms were so thoughtfully appointed, and the design of the entire Space including the group room really facilitated relaxation and transformation. As a mental health, professional, counselor, and a yoga therapist, I cannot recommend this retreat, our facilitators, Darek , and Jessica, and their stunning island, oasis enough.
This was an entirely new experience for me and I found that it felt a little like going to camp but for adults!! I was apprehensive about the group sessions and whether I'd be able to share personal information but the leaders, and the entire group, we're warm and disarming, I had no issue with that. It's totally left up to each person to determine when and how much to participate - there is no pressure whatsoever. I appreciated that questions would often be presented in advance and we'd have time to reflect before sharing with the group. They were very thought provoking prompts. Some exercises were done but they weren't too "kooky" or anything. As to the setting, logistics, and accommodations - in a word, spectacular!! It's a gorgeous little island. You're never far from the others but you have your own little haven to retreat to (to retreat from the retreat?!), if needed. Again, no pressure to participate (but it's totally worth it if you do). My room was really small but it had all the space I needed and the view was gorgeous. The bed and bedding were remarkably comfortable and I slept really well. The food was superb - I'm a picky eater and was concerned if I would be ok with what was offered but it was all delicious and plentiful (and healthy!!). There were lots of snacks - fruit, veggies and hummus, etc. There was even dessert (tasty but still quite healthy!) and tasty juices that were fresh and light. When I arrived, everyone there was a stranger to me but I was made to feel welcome and safe. I had lots of lovely informal chats with people, they were such a friendly and amazing group. It wasn't long before they all felt like friends. The weather didn't cooperate for kayaking, unfortunately, but I did make use of the hot tub which was cozy and fun. I wasn't really sure what to expect going in but it far exceeded any expectations that I could have had. I would definitely recommend doing this and would do it again in a heartbeat. If you need a little quality "me time" this is the place for it. Many thanks to the organizers (and the cook!!).

Spend time in professionally led small groups exploring your thoughts, feelings, and emotions in brave new ways, while also enjoying scenic views, delicious meals, and rejuvenating activities of your choice. The accommodations and amenities are beautifully designed and allow you to feel close to the natural surroundings. Hosted by the gracious Jessica and Darek, the retreat is a perfect mix of guided activities and open time to reflect and explore.
10/10 experience at True You retreat this past weekend. I cannot recommend enough! Where to begin?! The retreat centre is located on a gorgeous island, and the facilities are brand new and STUNNING - built with attention to comfort, the human experience, and aesthetic beauty. Very comfortable beds and private cabin spaces, indoor and outdoor shower options, wood-fired sauna and hot-tub overlooking the lake, multiple swimming and outdoor spaces to relax and reflect. The food was prepared by an on-site chef - delicious, healthy and plentiful. The meditation and group components of the retreat are designed and guided by clinical psychologist Dr. Dawda alongside a team of therapy co-facilitators. I so enjoyed the "choose-your-own-adventure" vibe of the weekend, all were invited to participate in any or all of the group and island activities - zero pressure - come as you are, do what you want to do. I opted to dive in to the meditation sessions and group components and left feeling so refreshed, relaxed, closer to myself, closer to the humans around me, and with plenty of time to journal, chat, and integrate my experiences, it was truly a profound and awe-inspiring weekend - all in the span of 3 days. No matter your goal - to give yourself a space to dive deeper into introspection of your life - past or present - to reflect on your goals, to have a dose of nature, meditation, sauna and good sleeps, to take time away to connect, to disconnect, to get some work done in a beautiful space, whatever it may be... you will not regret giving yourself, your loved ones, or team of work colleagues this fabulous experience!
