Best barber shop in Portland. For a few years now, Cassie at Union Barber has been taking excellent care of me — keeping my hairstyle fresh + exciting when we want to “go there.” I’m in her chair weekly for a cut n’ shave service (short haircut + straight edge razor), and it’s honestly the best part of my week, every week. Cassie is a wonderful collaborator and ace at her job. The shop is tall and spacious, has water + beer/whiskey, good dogs are welcomed, and the whole staff is super cool and down-to-earth. They keep it interesting. It’s a laid-back, never-fake atmosphere and grooming community center for tough times. They always meet you where you’re at on any given day. Can’t go wrong at Union Barber. Best to book ahead and book out, too.
My haircut with Cassie Caldwell was amazing, as always! She is so kind, welcoming and she always provides the best conversation and experience. I gave her a small clip from IG for inspiration and she made the rocker shag I wanted even better, but it was exactly what I wanted! I know she usually does fades/buzzes/short cuts/shaves but I wouldn’t hesitate to check her out for a long cut! Tens across the board!!!
My husband and I have been in Portland for over 3 years now and he’s had the hardest time trying to find a barber who can properly cut his hair. After trying multiple places and feeling defeated, I finally made an appointment for him at Union Barber and although he was hesitant he was NOT disappointed! What might seem as a trendy spot is truly a place of talent. The barbers are cool, and welcoming. And they offer adult beverages to their clientele, a nice way to round out the visit. It’s a little pricy but very much worth the visit. My husband is now a returning and loyal client of Huy. I’d highly recommend!
Walked by the other day and saw this shop. I went to Google Maps and booked an online appointment. I book the appointment for the #4 Hair - Line up, since I recently had a major haircut. I recently bought a new Panama Hat and wanted to look sharp. After some Covid protocol, Jordan cut my hair. He was very thorough, and did a hot towel neck shave. After the shave the cocoa butter and Witch Hazel was an added bonus, along with the neck and shoulder massage. Super pleased with the haircut. I'll be back and next time I'll get the full shave.
