We worked with MJ from Weddings in Color while planning our 250+ guest wedding, and her support made a huge difference from start to finish. She helped keep everything organized with various vendors and brought a calm, reassuring presence throughout the process. MJ also ran our wedding rehearsal, which helped everyone feel prepared and confident going into the big day! On the day of, everything ran smoothly and we felt fully supported by her and her team. We worked with MJ from Weddings in Color for about ten months to plan our 125-guest wedding, and we couldn’t imagine going through this process without her. From the start, she offered thoughtful guidance on venues and vendors. Weddings in Color has a variety of trusted vendors in their network, and MJ provided us with multiple curated options for each category so we could compare and choose the ones that best fit our vision and budget. This alone saved us countless hours of research. As the big day got closer, MJ helped ease our stress. During the month-of, she handled all vendor communications behind the scenes, allowing us to finalize the wedding day agenda and the details that made the wedding extra special for us and our guests. On the wedding day itself, MJ and her team were absolutely fantastic — organized, calm, and always one step ahead. Everything ran smoothly and flawlessly, and our day was genuinely perfect and exceeded our expectations. The venue was decorated beautifully, and all the vendors were exceptional. We could feel that the entire team genuinely cared about making our wedding the best day ever for us. We were especially grateful for MJ’s patience throughout the entire planning process. She always made time for our questions, concerns, and occasional anxiety, even setting up extra meetings whenever we needed reassurance. If you're reading this, this is your sign: go with Weddings in Color! We had a wonderful wedding and reception thanks to this fabulous collective of folks. In choosing a wedding planner/team, my partner and I were looking for folks that had experience working with POC and queer couples, that could work within our budget, and that had an eye towards style and embracing the unique. WIC is exactly that! We didn't come with a hugely specific vision -- nature elements, good food (lechon was a MUST), QPOC-inclusive, and good music/vibes. WIC helped us brainstorm to give more body to our vision and suggested venues and vendors based on that vision. The collective of vendors is AMAZING, btw -- such a stacked crew. We really appreciated having options to choose from instead of looking for a needle in a haystack (in fact, we wanted to go with a wedding planner/team because we got overwhelmed trying to do it on our own...too many choices out there). WIC was also really flexible and understanding whenever things popped up over the course of planning (e.g., helping us stay within budget, changes to the catering menu, showing empathy when family/personal life stuff came up, and keeping us accountable/on track while encouraging us to trust the process). We are so grateful for all that Gina, Tiara, Kaithleen, and the rest of the WIC crew have done for us to make our day special! Can't recommend these folks enough!!!
We searched for the right wedding planner for a while before finding and settling on Gina Mariko Rosales from Weddings in Color, and from the moment we hired Gina, she became an immediate part of our family, so we knew we were in great hands - but we had no idea just how extraordinary our wedding would turn out! Gina went above and beyond to listen to our joint wants and needs, showing great concern for our vision – supporting us and cheering us on the whole way! We really had to be willing to let go on the actual day, and Gina built enough trust with us to let us do exactly that - she's a miracle worker. We had a vision for our wedding – classy, trashy, and gay! - without any idea how to bring it all together. Gina took our ideas, made some insightful suggestion, and turned them all into reality, flawlessly managing every detail, from the smallest decor element to the grandest moments of the ceremony and reception. The Weddings in Color network of talented vendors, from photographers to florists, was impressive. Every professional she brought in was top-notch and knew exactly how to execute her vision. It was very important to us to have access to vendors who were POC and LGBTQIA+ inclusive, and this is just something that Weddings in Color gets! Gina knew, that although the wedding was obviously important to the tow of us, having our guests have an amazing experience was the most important element for us. And they did! They were blown away by how perfectly everything came together, and we got to (mostly haha) relax and truly enjoy our day, which was priceless. The venue, the music, the food, the decorations—it was all perfection. Working with San Francisco City Hall can be daunting, but Gina and her team meticulously navigated every detail so that it because the most picture perfect venue for our celebration. Not only did she manage the logistics with ease, but she also made sure every moment was beautiful and meaningful. We couldn’t have asked for a better day, and that's all thanks to Gina’s incredible expertise, attention to detail, and warm, supportive presence. Gina is truly a member of our chosen family now. She's unequivocally the best in the business, and we are forever grateful for everything she did for us. Salamat and mahalo nui for making our wedding not just a day, but the wedding of the year!
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Gina, Sydney, and their entire team! We reached out to her just 7 weeks before our event, and they worked her magic to pull everything together seamlessly. Their creativity brought our vision to life in ways I never imagined. Not only are they highly organized, but their patience throughout the planning process made everything so much easier.
