i am at loss for words. never in my life did i think I would be writing this review. I am beyond disappointed with the service I received here and because of their negligence, my family’s cat is dead. We have taken our cat here multiple times and the waiting times were always beyond ridiculous. Thankfully our other vet was able to see him and take care of him when they couldn’t until recently. This past weekend, we noticed our cat was not eating nor drinking water as usual and had a lack of defacation. We decided to visit this place since our vet was unavailable. Unfortunately, we were turned away due to the high volume they were experiencing which is ALWAYS. Since it was urgent, we decided to visit again and stay because we wanted to know his condition as soon as possible. After waiting for more than 2-3 hours, we were finally seen and awaited test results and bloodwork. The employees then advised my family our cat was experiencing an infection and his liver was possibly being affected but they did not state anything serious, the only advised us of his old age. They gave him shots, antibiotics, and sent him home since he didn’t “require hospitalization.” This cost us around $430. Not even 24 hours later, our beloved fur baby of 13 years is gone. The next night from taking our cat to this business, he was hiding in the closet, breathing rapidly, panting, and lost his ability to walk. You’re telling me this is normal behavior after just seeing a vet?!?! How on earth would they miss something so severe and release him? We were giving him the proper treatments and medications and his health declined rapidly. They gave us false hope as if he was just experiencing an infection and nothing life threatening, WHICH HE WAS. I will never step foot into this business again. My family and I are devastated from this loss. BEWARE of this business. We are thankful the Far East Animal Care Center took him in and allowed him to pass away peacefully without worrying about any waiting times nor ridiculous prices. UPDATE: I reached out to this vet and asked for medical records for our pet and not only are they making false claims, but they even had the nerve to take over 30 minutes to send me the medical records, which were most likely messed with to line up with their false narrative. Our family is being blamed for the death of our pet to not lose business and to not take the blame for what they did. A business we once trusted and had good prior experiences with has shown us otherwise and again, please reconsider visiting this business. I’m never one to be bashing a company nor people but this is beyond unacceptable and we want to warn others about bad experiences such as this one.

West Texas Veterinary Services was absolutely excellent, and I am beyond thankful for the care they provided my dog. I came to them for a second opinion after a month and a half of battling my dog’s allergies with another clinic and feeling completely beaten down and helpless. From the start, they were thorough, compassionate, and truly listened. They quickly identified the real issue, created an effective treatment plan, and within just two weeks my dog’s allergies were finally stabilized. The relief I felt both for my dog and myself was immense. It was clear they genuinely cared about getting to the root of the problem rather than just managing symptoms. I’m so grateful for their knowledge, transparency, and kindness during a very stressful time. I highly recommend West Texas Veterinary Services to anyone looking for a vet who truly advocates for their pet.

I’ve been going to Dr Terrazas for years and was happy with his staff and services because they were always honest with me about my options in treating my pet. However this last time I ruin my puppy in because she swallowed a piece of thread and it was still visibly coming out of her mouth so Dr. Kelly Ellis referred me to the ER but said they would do X-rays and offered to do them there since they are less expensive. Of course I said yes, once they took the xrays , she said that the string wasn’t in her stomach yet because it wasn’t showing in the xray so she would need an endoscopy to be able to see and get the string out, she referred me to rhe emergency vet on airway and I asked if I could take her to the one closer do my home since I knew it was more affordable she said I couldn’t because they didn’t have the endoscopy machine. So once her vet tech came out she mentioned the ER I had asked about I told her the vet said they didn’t have the equipment and she assured me they did. So that’s my first complaint is she lied to me about the clinic, once I get to the clinic by my house the vet there tells me you can’t see thread through an xray. So that’s the second time she lied to me. This makes me realize this veterinary office is only in it for the money and they don’t actually care about your pets. Extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with the care my pet received.

My dog’s eye surgery was thoroughly explained and the procedure was a complete success. The care before and after the surgery was excellent. Dr. Terrazas is truly amazing!
