Update. Fixed by another master from the same saloon. Free of charge. No good. While being cut I saw it clumsy, but trusted the hairdresser anyway. The next day a few people pointed out my haircut was strange and uneven. Indeed by looking at it closer my hair cut choppy and a bunch left behind 1 ear…
I have been here twice now and have gotten nothing but a great experience. If you are looking for someone who pays extreme attention to detail with their cuts and have you walk away with nothing but a amazing haircut then Courtland is your guy.
I love this place… I went through a lot of different salon’s and hair styling places and could never get the consistency right. However, 18/8 always exceeds my expectations and I even drive 25 minutes to get there every time I go just because I know I’m going to get exceptional service and a nice clean cut. I rotate stylists between their schedules and mine but I highly recommend Taryn, Ziri, and Courtland. All 3 are amazing with their craft and super cool people to converse with as well.
I've been going to 18/8 for about seven years because Jarred gave me my first hair cut and I think he's the best barber since I moved to San Diego. When I couldn't get a hair cut from Jarred I got one from his coworker Brittany. Turns out they fired both: there's a pressure on barbers to get more clients, yet the prices become more and more expensive. And they also fire for giving clients the contacts of their barbers that no longer work there. I always gave great reviews to 18/8 for their barbers, now their two best are not there any more. Pricey and treating their most talented individuals very poorly. Good thing I still get my hair cut by them. Available to give out their contacts.
10/10 - recommend! Great place! Having lived in SD for many years, I am pleased to have discovered 18/8. A professional men’s salon that delivers a really good haircut every time. The difference from here to other places I’ve been, is that they pay attention to details. For example, and as silly as this sounds, they check the length of each side burn to ensure it’s evenly matched; my old place didn’t and I’d go home notice it and be annoyed! Really nice chairs, setting and you can even get a drink there. Pricier than other places but worth it as better quality. Their website is also good and easy to use. Michelle cuts my hair and she is excellent! Overall, recommend!
