Such a great doggy day care! The staff are so attentive to the dogs and I feel at ease leaving my dog with them for a day of fun! I appreciate the space they have for dogs to roam and indoor space when the weather is too cold/hot or wet. We have enjoyed A Dogs Hide a way!
If you’re looking for a dog daycare where your pup can have fun, and truly be a dog, this is the place! Every time I’m there, all the dogs look so happy and well behaved. I toured other daycares before, and many kept dogs in kennels where they even had to potty inside. It felt so sad, almost like a dog jail😔 Here, it’s completely different. The dogs get to play together on a beautiful 5-acre property and sleep in a cozy, home-like environment. The owners and staff are amazing—they know every dog’s name, personality, and needs. On rainy days, the dogs naturally get muddy, and the staff ends up soaked from head to toe!! They pay such close attention and genuinely care about each pup🫶🏻 Our dog is a professional couch potato and gets overwhelmed easily, so daycare was a big adjustment for her. After her very first sleepover, she even ended up with some paw irritation and stress-related diarrhea. We expected this and had prepared for it, but it’s something other nervous pups might experience, too. If your dog tends to be anxious, I highly recommend starting with short visits and repeating them often to build confidence. Always do a full body check when your dog gets home—look for paw damage, cracked nails, small cuts, or hot spots. (These things can happen simply because they’re having a blast!) Another tip: try scheduling daycare on weekdays, just in case your dog needs to see a vet. We started practicing in April to get ready for a trip in July, and that gradual approach made a HUGE difference. Thinking and planning ahead will help your dog both mentally and physically—and it will give you peace of mind, too. I’m incredibly grateful for the wonderful care they provide. I’m so glad I found this place!!
Took our lil dude Buckey for a visit — and now he thinks he owns the place. 😂 We were just looking for somewhere to board him, but the staff was super nice and suggested starting with daycare to help him settle in. Smart move! We’ve been twice now, and both times Buckey refused to leave. Came home totally wiped out — mission accomplished for our wild little American Terrier. 10/10 would send him again just so we can get some peace and quiet
A Dog's Hide-A-Way is a beautiful place for pups! When you go for your meet and greet, you get to see the whole property. You see the cooling/heating space that dogs always have access to (which also includes a bath station that you can use when you pick up your dogs or pay them to bath your dogs for you), the shaded woods, the amazing creek that one of our dogs immediately jumped into to swim with the others, and inside the home that the owners live in, including the living room where the pups sleep at night. The fact that these owners have welcomed all of these dogs into their home each night speaks to the level of care they have. Our dogs, Jack and Cooper, stayed there for a week and each day I could see pictures on A Dog's Hide-A-Way's Instagram page and when I checked in via text, not only would they respond promptly, they often included extra pictures. I was worried both dogs would come home with lots of knots in their fur but the staff go through the "trouble spots" each night (behind the ears and bum). They also look for sore spots on their feet and treat them with a salve (which they told me about ahead of time). We have gone to other boarding places and Jack and Cooper have never had this level of care there...nor have the dogs had this much freedom to play. A Dog's Hide-A-Way is worth every penny and we will be back again soon!
Phenomenal place! The staff really care and care for the dogs so well, and the grounds are extensive and well maintained. The Instagram is full of hilarious and adorable candid pictures through the day, and my dog always comes home happy and tired!
