I am so grateful for the work of A-Z Alterations. I’m someone who was nervous at the idea of handing over one of the most important pieces of clothing I will ever wear, but the team did an amazing job making sure my dress looked perfect (no more straps falling off of my shoulders)! They also took on the feat of completely transforming my mother’s wedding dress from 1986 into a bridal shower/reception dress. They gave great advice and really took the time to help the vision come to life. They made my mom and I feel like family by the time we were done! I highly recommend them for anything wedding or event related. Thank you for your beautiful work A-Z Alterations and Tailoring!
Prices are extremely high! I took this dress to them because I needed a “professional” to shorten this long dress. Got fitted and the seamstress marked the dress asking if I wanted floor length. I just agreed because she didn’t offer any other options. The owner clarified what I wanted when I checked out and adjusted it to 1/2” above the floor. So I’m happy with that length which is why I am giving 2 stars. The owner rung me up saying it’s $85!!!! I questioned why and she said it’s a double hem-one for the inner layer and another for the outer layer. We even looked at the dress to confirm. (I know the owner will respond to this post, so please review your video surveillance. We looked at it and you said that’s the price for a double hem.) I still thought $40ish per hem was pricey but expected since I saw it on a previous review. When I picked up the dress, however, is where it got interesting. I tried on the dress there to make sure it was the right length which it was. But they didn’t hem them outer layer…it was just cut! Which honestly I could have done myself as well as the inner layer because no one sees that. So after trying the dress on I let the owner know of my concerns on the price seeing that it is cut and that $85 for this is the accurate price. She said it was because the seamstress works on commission, they do dresses for boutique, and they keep the original style of the dress, which was cut. So then I question if I still should be charged $85 because there’s only one hem. She stood firm on the price saying that’s what it a double hem costs as stated on the receipt. I went home to look at the receipt and and it does say hem, not cut. I even looked up the word to make sure my definition of hem means to take up and sew. So shouldn’t they sew the bottom the dress then?!?! It says hem. That’s what I thought the $85 would go towards. The owner said she will have them sew it, which I declined because it would make the dress too short for me to wear. She still stood firm on the $85 for this work. I also noticed when I got home that the cuts aren’t even that straight as you can see in the picture. Not coming back here to pay ridiculously high prices for poor quality and bad communication.
I can’t say enough good things about my experience! I brought in a dress that was two sizes too big, and they completely transformed it to fit me perfectly. The tailor took the time to do multiple fittings to make sure every detail was just right, and the end result is absolutely stunning, it looks like it was made just for me. They were kind, professional, and clearly take pride in their work. I’m so happy with how my dress turned out and will definitely be coming back for any future alterations!
Used AZ Alterations for my wedding dress. The thought of having your wedding dress cut and altered is pretty stressful but the team at AZ are true experts. My dress was 100% intricate lace and the end result was flawless. It fit my body perfectly with the perfect amount of movability. The constant traffic in and out of this place is testimony enough for how many people trust them. Highly recommend!
The A-Z Alterations & Tailoring Team was incredible. They made the experience of getting my wedding altered fun and enjoyable. I left my first fitting absolutely knowing my dress was in the right hands. I’m so thankful for them! Will be coming back for any future tailoring needs.
