Extremely overpriced- padded work estimates by a lot. We have been having some issues with our kitchen sink that needed it to be re-piped, as well as some other minor work around the house like snaking a shower and bathroom sink. We had someone arrive about an hour after their original window of 2 hours. He seemed friendly and professional enough. However, he quoted us $1955 to fix these issues. It seemed incredibly high at the time, so we said we would need to think about it. He sent us an invoice that night. The next day, we sent that invoice to 2 other plumbers who said this company was extremely padding their numbers. We had another company come out and fix these issues the next day, they charged us $1000 less than what was quoted for the same work. Pretty annoyed that A1 wasted my time and tried to take advantage of a 9 months pregnant woman. Shame on this company.
Terrible Experience – Beware of This Company I called this plumbing service because they had five stars on Google and I assumed they would be trustworthy. My husband was at work, so I decided to handle the service call myself. When the plumber arrived, I explained that my toilet was flushing, but not completely — the toilet paper wasn’t going down, and it seemed like a slow flush. He spent 12 minutes using a basic (non-electric) snake, then told me he couldn’t unclog it. He said I’d need to pay an additional $300 for him to remove the toilet and another $350 for him to bring a power snake. That would bring the total to $650, not including the fact that he’d have to move furniture since it’s a primary bathroom. I immediately declined. $300 just to remove a toilet is outrageous — my husband had just replaced the toilet the day before and could easily do that himself. When I asked if it was possible for my husband to remove it and for them to return, the plumber actually said, “Honestly, he could probably fix it on his own. The clog is right there at the flange.” In other words, he was basically saying it didn’t even sound like this big $650 “project” was necessary. He still charged me $250 for the visit — even though the issue wasn’t fixed and he was only working on my toilet for about 10minutes, I have screenshots — and left my bathroom messy, with more water in the toilet than before he arrived. Left the lid off and bathroom mat crumbled up near my bed. When I called the company to explain what happened, the receptionist immediately transferred me to the manager (who turned out to be the owner) before I could even finish my first sentence. As soon as he got on the phone, he didn’t let me speak or even introduce myself. He just said he was “familiar with the call” and started mansplaining his services in a condescending tone. When I told him I didn’t appreciate the way he was speaking to me, he blamed it on him using a speakerphone — I could clearly hear other people in the background chiming in and backing him up saying he was working on my toilet for an hour. Overall, the customer service was horrible, the pricing was unreasonable, and the attitude from both the owner was rude and dismissive. I paid $250 for 12 minutes of work and no results. The owner even admitted that the $250 charge applies “even if no work is done.” Guess plumbers are making Dr. wages these days… Save your money and your time — do not call this company. My husband and dad will likely fix the issue themselves, especially since the plumber himself said, “It’s just right there on the flange.” This was highway robbery, and I sincerely hope their rating drops so others don’t go through the same experience.
I had an emergency leak in one of my listings that needed to be addressed over the weekend. A1 Best Plumbing answered their phone immediately assessed the problem over the phone and immediately recognized that it was not an emergency and that I would save over $200 for my client by putting the work off until Monday! Their assigned plumber showed up on time + sent videos to back up the work to be done + sent receipts + communicated with me beautifully. Highly recommend! Service + honesty are everything + so is my reputation as my clients put a lot of trust in me and I take that very seriously! Thank you so much for making my client happy and relieving us all from a stressful situation.
Bobby came in to fix a clogged line. He was great! He is thorough and found an issue where the last plumber from First American Home Warranty's independent contractor came out and messed up pur plumbing by putting in a rag on our roof plumbing vent. Bobby is highly recommended! Honest and reliable
Bobby did an excellent job quickly solving our drain issues. Two sinks plugged on Labor Day weekend no less! Very grateful for all his help getting us back and up and running again. I highly recommend A1 Best Plumbing!
