Ace Handyman was such a great find and our tech, Alex was fantastic! We had a project that was a little different and he listened, communicated, and achieved the results we were looking for. This is the second job done with Ace and we are booking the next one ASAP. The hourly rate is a bit pricey, but we ended up under the estimate, so it turned out very reasonable. It's worth the extra cost to get the friendly and professional service!
We had an excellent experience with Ace Handyman Services in Lakeway. From the very beginning, Shaun in the office went above and beyond to accommodate a tricky scheduling situation, and we were impressed by his responsiveness and care. Cliff continued that same level of service at the job site. He called ahead to let us know he was on his way, arrived promptly, and did outstanding and detailed work. We highly recommend Ace Handyman Services and we will definitely use them again.
Alex was my handyman. I was delighted when he showed up for my project. He mentioned that he had been a roofer...and he was a great fit for this job. His depth of knowledge regarding issues I had with my dormers was perfect. He diagnosed the problem and knew exactly how to fix it. He worked quickly, did not make a mess, and he left my home looking much better than before. Every one I dealt with has been professional, and helpful. I will confidently use your services in the future...and refer my friends.
Michael did an outstanding job repainting my daycare! He was incredibly thorough and paid close attention to every detail — everything looks absolutely perfect. His communication throughout the entire process was top-notch, and he made sure I was informed every step of the way. It’s rare to find someone so professional, reliable, and easy to work with. I highly recommend Michael and Ace Handyman for anyone needing quality, dependable work done right!
Update: 7/21/25 - After some email exchanges with Cliff, he arrived at my house, and went over my concerns. He corrected what he could and even went outside of the scope of corrections and repaired areas that were unseen by me. This was very appreciated as these areas, no doubt, would've caused (and likely already have caused) damage what would've warranted investing more funding into projects that are not budgeted for. Thank you Cliff for restoring my faith in Ace Handyman Services, and in general, those who make good on their word. Original - While I can appreciate the overwhelming number of positive reviews, my experience was not a home run. The Handyman assigned to my job was very courteous and understood the job which was simple; remove weathered caulking and apply new around exterior windows. Before the project, I was told that I would receive a call the day before the m to go over the details. This call never happened. I think if it would've, maybe the result would’ve been better. The Handyman used his finger to spread caulk, while this is not unusual, the result is not clean. The caulking is not smooth (gaps in some areas), it was widely spread outside of the zone needed and onto window frames, and trim (see photos) which forces an unnecessary paint job, meaning more expenses. To be clear, the caulk is dry in these photos. I wanted to love the end result of this project as I have a large list of to-do's and wanted a reliable Handyman service but for me, this was not it. It would’ve also been ideal to be advised of a service fee on top of the package (or hourly fee) in advance of the service. The cost of this project, and for the subsequent expenses to correct mistakes, is eye watering. I'm posting this to ensure homeowners ask the right questions...does the Handyman have the right tools for the job? Are there any other fees? Has the Handyman does this type of work before? I did message (text and email) Ace Hardware with my experience and photos, they wanted to chat further. In my opinion, the photos tell the story, i don't know what talking about it further would've accomplished other than prodding an already disappointed homeowner and I certainly didn't want another Handyman at my home. This was a relatively simple project which should've been done well during the initial visit. I requested discounted services but they did not acknowledge the request or honor a discount. With the service fee, the hourly rate was $175. Considering I need to redo it and add more expenses to this project...holy smokes.
