What an amazing experience with Ackerman and sons. They were extremely responsive and were able to complete my project in a super timely manner. They truly went above and beyond for me, it looks good as new!! You would never even know it had some work done on it. Highly highly recommend them to anyone looking!
I trusted these folks with my great grandparents corner chair. It was 100 years old and in need of refinishing and reappolstered. Lots of places do one or three other but this place did an AWESOME job on both. They were able to use the fabric I purchased in Scotland of my Grandfather's family tartan. The refinished wood looks new and the plaid of the tartan is lined up and matched perfectly. I will definitely use Ackerman & Sons again
I had an old office desk chair that was falling apart altogether so I took it to Ackerman & Sons and now it looks and feels amazing. They gave it new stitching, padding, fixed up the legs, and now it's one of a kind. Definitely worth it.
Ackerman and Sons has refused to honor their written estimate, and they will not refund to me a $115 overpayment. I picked up two completed pieces of furniture on 5.27.25, and after reviewing my detailed invoice wherein I paid the company about $3,600, I realized that I had overpaid by $115. Owner Mike Ackerman had originally given me a written estimate with a $115 discount, but that $115 discount was not included in the final bill. Employee Nathan found the written estimate with the $115 discount and stated that the discount had inadvertently been left off of the final bill. He said I would receive a check for the $115. After two emails and four phone calls, and as of 7.7.25, Ackerman and Sons has not contacted me nor have they refunded my overpayment. These are not the actions of an honest and reputable company. I gave them TWO STARS instead of ONE STAR only because their work appears to be good quality. I'll never return to Ackerman and Sons as THEY HAVE STIFFED ME FOR $115!
We were surprised to find that Ackerman & Sons didn't have a solid 5 Star rating overall. We were new to using this business for our reupholster needs. The quality of the craftsmanship is by far superior. Beautiful workmanship. We felt their pricing was extremely fair for the work and detail that needed to be completed. We loved how they came to our home and quoted everything and left us with the labor pricing and how much fabric each piece needed. No sales pressure and they addressed all of our questions so we could make a sound decision on how we wanted to proceed. Everyone we interacted with at Ackerman's was very professional and knowledgeable. Excellent customer service. They even assisted us with selecting quality fabrics for 3 of our items. At a super price. And they special ordered the upholstery tacks/nails we selected. They were extremely patient while we were reviewing and selecting both fabric and tacks/nails as they had a large selection. We plan to use them for all our future reupholster needs as a result of our positive experience. This is a very professional and honest small business with true craftspeople and excellent customer service. We are very grateful we found them.
