Great layout, less busy that the Woodland Hills one, a really nice Manga, graphic novel, and "geek chic" merch section. I like this one a lot, and the only thing that would make it better is if the Promenade was still around so all the shopping could be done qith a simple walk across the street.
Always fun to wander around and see the new books and whatnot that are available! Found myself a new book to add to my collection. The gal who helped me check out was super kind and friendly.
Every time I go in here the staff is super friendly. Most recently, they didn't have the book I was looking for in stock, but a very kind (and knowledgeable about the genres I was interested in!) employee came and chatted with me and recommended me a couple different series. I landed on the Licanius Trilogy by James Islington and it's already got me hooked. I've had bad experiences at other large chain bookstores but B&N is still consistently good and still feels like a bookstore where other large chains have strayed more into just knick knack store territory.
You may know they have coffee - but they also have cheesecake factory cheese cake and other dessert cookies and scones. The best selection of books and TOYS and gifts!
Too big by half. Despite being able to find nearly any book, game, magazine or music I'm interested in, the place is dauntingly crowded with so many choices that I become nearly dizzy. I do like the cafe with its groups of game players, couples bent over a shared article, individuals enjoying expertly brewed and finely served coffee. I also like the ubiquitous staffer pausing to ask whether I need help finding anything and the central information desk where those few obscure titles not in stock, like Hagel's Encyclopedia of the Philosophical Sciences or Stieglitz's Camera Work, can be ordered for delivery next week. Still I prefer the smaller intimate book shop around the corner where I can chat with moonlighting librarians between fetching my emails.
