Very neat/unique bookstore spanning 3-4 stories with small, cozy rooms. But the cafe itself is ridiculously overpriced. We went there on Dec 26th and they were asking for $75 per PERSON (some sort of fixed price service). Couldn't even come in to buy a coffee. This is more than a fancy Italian restaurant with wine and desert and coffee. So you get 3 overall. 1 star for the cafe, 5 stars for the bookstore.
BHB&C (Beacon Hill Books & Cafe) is one of the most charming places we’ve visited in 59 years of travel. The combination of good food, good books, and great atmosphere puts this place into a league of its own. The hostess, Leslee, actually found a place for us in spite of us not having reservations. And the food was fabulous — literally the best quiche I’ve had in years! Our waiter Pablo added the perfect ingredient of knowing the details of everything on offer so that we couldn’t help but make a good decision. The bookstore’s thoughtfully provisioned shelves proved irresistible after dinner. My wife and I heartily recommend Beacon Hill Books & Cafe for locals and travelers alike. You won’t be disappointed!
Very beautiful bookstore set in a gorgeous townhouse. Cozy cafe tucked away for nice afternoon tea on a rainy day. With an especially delightful looking children's section. There's also a lovely art print vending machine on the 2nd floor.
The bookstore is beautiful, with three floors. The top floor is for kids and young adults, and it even has a little train—so cute! There’s a huge selection of books, and the cafe is lovely too. You can sit inside or outside, and they even give you a blanket if you want. Unfortunately we could not try the cafe, due to limited staff they weren’t accepting walk-ins, so be sure to make a reservation if you would like to go.
Cute little cafe and bookstore. The bookstore is located on the top levels and then the cafe is located below. We made reservations for breakfast, it’s a tiny cafe (maybe 8 tables inside and 5 tables outside on patio). I ordered an iced vanilla latte, which was the perfect balance of sweet and coffee ish. Food wise, I ordered the Farmers Market and it was so tasty. Really enjoyed the flavors. Overall it was good cafe experience but I do think it’s kinda overpriced and not that many options- but still a good experience. The bookstore itself was so beautiful- there’s like 3 levels and I could have stayed there all day and purchasing the whole store (but I love a good bookstore!!)
