So we had a date night here and the atmosphere was totally on point. Alfresco dining, secluded, modern yet sophisticated music. I had the Capri Breeze Cocktail and it was like summer in a glass. So we ordered the Spanner Crab linguine and wondered if it came in the shell, pleasingly it had no shell and was so full of flavour, truly is the best seafood style pasta I have ever had. We also ordered the pappardelle Al Ragu Di Angello which is a slow cooked Ragu lamb and I was not disappointed, it was full of authentic rich Italian flavours. We then topped it off with a traditional Italian Tiramisu, I love coffee, but I usually struggle with the bitterness of coffee in many of these deserts mar within this country, but this was a truly authentically made Italian desert, that tickled every taste bud in my mouth, and my partner and I fought for every spoonful. The staff are very friendly and appear to also be from authentic Italian heritage. @georgenahas you have truly given me a great Italian experience and one that I will be happy to share with friends and family. 12 out of 10 for me, which means you hit it out of the park.
Absolutely terrible service, even more so for the price you pay. Wednesday night, place is half full. Took 25 minutes and asking multiple times for the waiter to come and take our order. 5 staff standing around the counter just hanging out. Entree came out quick. Mains followed about 30 minutes later, which is fine as they got busier. Food was good. Portions were small for the price, but quality was on point. Asked for the same bottle of wine half way through, 15 minutes later followed up again to be told they didn’t have any more. Had to ask for table water, which was never refilled during a 2 hour seating. Served by 3 different waiters, of which two struggled to take our orders and were very inexperienced. The manager (I assume) was very quick to take payment though, go figure.
Came in for the EatClub deal and was honestly pleasantly surprised. I first visited with my partner late last week and we ordered the wood-fired bread with burrata and prosciutto, the tomato salad, the crab pasta, and the lamb ragu pasta. The wood-fired bread and everything that came with it were amazing, and the crab pasta was genuinely delicious. The lamb ragu was just okay, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. I came back again a few days later with a workmate and got the prosciutto pizza plus the wood-fired bread again, along with two cocktails — everything was just as good the second time. Definitely think it’s worth a visit. The flavours are great, the EatClub deal makes it even better, and overall it easily deserves five stars.
The cutest Italian restaurant in the heart of the city, perfect for catch ups and a relaxed dining. Their Gin Rigatoni is not a question but a requirement coming here. Its rich, creamy, and tastes absolutley devine! Grab a wood-fired pizzas to share. I got their Bufalina and paire itd all with an Aperol or Limoncello Spritz! Service was well paced. Did not feel rushed, and the atmosphere feels very modern, outdoor setting in the middle of the city. The vibes here was immaculate. Conveniently located just a 3 min walk from Wynyard Station!
Great casual vibe. Outdoor seating with heaters which was nice on a cool night. All the dishes were delicious especially the beef ragu pasta. Unfortunately service were very inexperienced and made a few mistakes, overcharging us for a bottle of wine which they had run out of & unable to print a receipt for the bill. We had a pleasant evening but check your bill carefully to make sure it is correct.
