I went to Best Tires and Mobile on Monday, 11/24/25 to have my brake pads replaced. The technician appeared confident in his work, and because this was a straightforward job, I trusted him to complete it correctly. I paid $123 for the service. By Friday evening, I noticed a serious change in how my vehicle was driving. When pulling out of a parking lot, I heard a loud rubbing/grinding noise from the front of the car whenever I pressed the brakes. The noise occurred again when turning the wheel while braking. On Saturday morning, I returned to Best Tires to report the issue and have it inspected. Instead of listening to the problem, the technician who originally worked on the car became argumentative. I told him I did not want to argue—I only wanted the car checked to identify the cause of the noise. I mentioned a few possibilities (such as piston not fully compressed, lack of lubrication, or hardware clips shifting), but made it clear that I was not certain and simply wanted the issue diagnosed. Another employee came to help and said they would “figure it out,” but the original technician insisted that I was accusing him of damaging my car, which was not what I said. I repeatedly explained that I only wanted the brakes checked. The technician removed the driver-side wheel, looked at the brake pad, then immediately put the wheel back on without further inspection. He then asked for my keys, drove the vehicle briefly, and returned saying he “didn’t hear anything” and that there was nothing he could do. I asked if we could drive together so he could hear the noise directly. During this, of shifting the car into reverse and drive quite a few times, the noise was clearly present, and he eventually acknowledged hearing it. He then suggested reinstalling my old brake pads to see if the noise continued. I explained that this would be pointless unless I was refunded, especially because I have used the same brand of Duralast ceramic brake pads since 2021 with no issues. When I asked why he installed the pads if he believed they were “bad,” he had no answer. Another customer suggested that the wheel hub might be the issue, and it became apparent that the technician was unfamiliar with that possibility. I have had my car serviced many times and have never experienced this problem before or after the brake job. After waiting nearly three hours, I was told they were “already doing me a courtesy” by even offering to reinstall the old pads, yet I would not receive a refund—not even a partial one. I was then told, sarcastically, that if I “knew so much,” I should fix it myself. At this point, I felt dismissed, disrespected, and left without answers. I drove away with my vehicle still making noise and driving worse than before the service. I received no refund, no proper inspection, and no resolution to the problem caused immediately after their work. I chose this shop based on positive reviews and affordability, but this experience has left me with a vehicle in worse condition, out $123, and now forced to find another mechanic to determine the damage and repair costs. This situation was handled unprofessionally, and I would not recommend this business based on my experience.
Phenomenal service, called this morning for a tire and I was charged a great price! I will always come here for the convenience and cheap prices! The service was done immediately upon arrival and I was taken well care of.
Great service always there when needed. Tonight I popped at 8 had somewhere to be at 10.. he’s OPEN EVERY DAY UNTIL 10PM.
