Blue sushi has always been one of my favorite sushi places in Omaha. Had the ceviche, mango crab Rangoon, the Hot popper roll, Lion king roll, Smoked Philadelphia roll, and the Cherry bomb. All of them were delicious. Service was quick and friendly. We went around 3pm during happy hour.
Visiting from out of town and came across this place on the map and decided to try it out! Food - Crab Rangoon: very little filling on the inside but the sauce was a sweet and spicy mix that was a good complement for the wonton skin to dip into. - Tidal Wave: a flavorful roll the eel sauce tied everything together really well. - Ceviche: Was plated very nicely and it felt like each bite was very fresh. There was a lot more dip than chips so each bite was very filling. - Hawaiian Roll: a sweet and savory roll with a mango sauce, a very different taste compared to the tidal wave. A more fresh and tropical twist with the mango pieces in the roll. Service - Everyone was really nice and attentive. When we first walked in, we were greeted right away and there was very little wait from placing the order to getting the food on the table. Our server was very friendly and made sure to check up on us and our food. Atmosphere - Overall the place was amazingly decorated and had its own vibes to it. The windows gave a nice view of Old Market, especially those who are visiting out of town. I think some patrons could have been spaced out more throughout the restaurant since there was a lot more seating available.
My daughter and I give this place a 12 out of 10! We had the Passion Paloma to drink, super delicious! We ordered the Spicy Gringo, Spider Maki, and the Spanish Fly! All were wonderful, but my favorite was the Spanish Fly! Can’t wait to come back!
We had a great experience. Our server Margaret was awesome. It was my first time getting sushi. She explained everything and gave excellent recommendations. Food and drinks were delicious. We will go again when we’re back in the area.
3.85 star kinda place. Very high prices, considering there’s other high-quality sushi in the area for less. Kind of an interesting joint… Disco porno music meets extreme Japanese authenticity sushi. Definitely very vibe-y joint if you’re in the mood for EDM or drum & bass and a little sushi. I’ll start with the sushi, it was excellent. The quality was top-notch, considering I’m in the center of the country, far from any tuna fishing. What I didn’t like was there was almost no tuna in the tuna roll that I ordered (see pic of tuna roll) even though it was a main ingredient in the roll I got, so I’m taking a star off of that. From what I understand, you have to pay top dollar to get a reasonable amount of fish in your sushi roll ($16-20/roll) which is unacceptable why are you being cheap in the slimiest way?. The service was kind of interesting experience, the server was condescending when I asked him a simple question about their tuna types and he was balding. Condescending talk and balding do not get along (trust me, I’ll be bald soon enough). I think I paid around $47 after tax and tip but that is including one alcoholic beverage and is a light meal. So I think if you really wanted to get filled up here, it would probably be about 50 bucks assuming you don’t drink.
