Bud light pitchers are $23 each (sorry, I was surprised so I added this) Details: My friends and I came in to bowl without realizing that Bowlero in Mechanicsville was running specials. We each bowled three games, and it wasn’t until checkout that we noticed the deals being advertised on the monitors. When I asked whether we could apply the special, Victor at the front desk told me that the special had to be requested before our party started bowling. This isn’t really about the money, but about customer service. Between the four of us, we spent over $250 and had a great time. What bothered me most was that Victor made no effort to see if anything could be done. He didn’t ask a manager or attempt to accommodate the request—just a blunt “you were supposed to request that special before bowling.” Having worked in customer service myself, I know there is often some flexibility with promotions. While I understand Victor may simply have been following corporate guidance, the lack of effort or empathy was disappointing. Additionally, Andrew, another cashier, did not mention any of the specials when we arrived, which also reflects poorly on the overall customer experience. Customers shouldn’t have to hunt for deals that are actively being promoted. I’ve visited the West Broad location before, where an employee proactively offered specials for my son and me without us even asking. That kind of attentiveness made us feel valued and represented excellent customer service. Unfortunately, that level of service seems to be increasingly rare.
I would give this a 5 star for cleanliness and the lanes. Overall fantastic atmosphere. Up to date lanes and bowling shoes were like new. The staff were so helpful and nice. But it is pricey. We had 4 people and played one game and rented shoes and it was $50. But I would come back for a fun night again.
Bowlero is generally a very clean and well-kept bowling center, even with how busy it often gets. It can definitely be crowded, which speaks to how popular it is. They offer a wide range of bowling league nights for all skill levels, from beginners to more experienced bowlers, which creates a great sense of community. The large arcade and prize center are a lot of fun, and having billiards tables and a full bowling pro shop on site really adds to the overall experience. It’s easy to spend several hours here with friends or family. The only downside is the smoking situation and food prices…. Not comparable to anywhere else. Very expensive. Unfortunately, you have to walk past smokers when entering and leaving, and some people also smoke out the back or in the bathrooms. This often leads to lingering smoke inside, making the air uncomfortable and difficult to breathe at times. It would be much better if this was more closely monitored and if the back doors were kept locked to prevent smoke from coming inside. Overall, Bowlero is a great place to bowl and hang out, and addressing this one issue would make it an even better experience for everyone.
This bowling alley was a lot of fun with the big group I went with, a huge parking lot, snack bar with good food choices. and a bar if you want a beer or cocktail, a huge arcade area, a pool table room.. there was literally something for everyone. I highly recommend this place for a group night out.
Great location for a group event. Service was attentive and we all had a blast. Pizza was surprisingly good! 👍
