This place changed my life for the better. I’m part of their adult program, it has helped my fitness and confidence tremendously. The master is the best you’ll find in Texas and he will take the time to give you the individual attention you need to thrive in this program as well as helping you to work in teams. Edit: I Haven’t been able to attend recently due to life circumstances, but the team here is very understanding and will help to get you back in the groove when needed if you can’t attend every class.
It’s a decent place to learn martial arts. I wont lie, including testing fees, gear fees and tuition, and other hidden fees, this studio will set you back about 200-250 (~150$ for tuition + 50-100 dollars for testing fees) a month, and duly note that they don’t do month-by-month payments, so you’ll have to commit to this for 3-6 month contracts. Cancellation fees on contracts are about 250$ They don’t do much sparring at all, but the place is clean and there’s an emphasis on developing the enthusiasm of students. I’ve always been a pretty soft-spoken guy as I yell a lot when I’m at work, and after a while I started to feel like it wasn’t welcome. Good place to put your kids; after a while they’ll start to learn some good discipline, learn how to not be scared, learn how to stand still, learn how to stay committed, and so on. I personally invested in it hoping to reconnect with something I had grown up doing, but as far as martial arts go, TaeKwanDo is chiefly a sport now. The instructor emphasizes Kukkiwon aesthetics and rules that start to seem arbitrary at times, and competitions, but personally I was never interested in competing; I wanted to connect to a military tradition and seek out an art that would help me fend for myself at work, as I often find myself in incredibly hostile and extremely violent environments. I decided to step away, accepting that TKD isn’t what it was and letting go of what I once knew. The place is pretty clean tho… needs new mats. Edit for clarification: “Hidden fees” in this context define required payments for continued enrollment not specified by the tuition contract. Testing fees are 50-100 dollars on a regular basis of every other month, in addition to payments involving board-breaking, these are fees *on top of the total tuition*. Sparring classes, from my communication with other students were comprised mostly of sparring drills rather than free-sparring, and are held on a once-per-week basis. From their account, I determined free-sparring was an infrequent practice.
Perfect place for kids to learn the Tae Kwon Do classes in Lubbock. I have my two kids learning here and they are doing a amazing job. I like the way the Masters teach the kids that makes the kids not only to practice here but to learn the self discipline, respect and confidence. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone interested.
Nous aimons faire partie de la famille CTMA ! C'est quelque chose que toute la famille peut faire ensemble. Grand Master Cheon et Master Jay sont tous les deux des enseignants et mentors incroyables. Quiconque envisage de rejoindre n'importe quelle forme d'arts martiaux devrait vraiment envisager de s'entraîner avec les meilleurs chez CTMA !
J’ai eu une expérience vraiment merveilleuse en apprenant auprès des Cheon’s. Il y a une famille si sympathique et merveilleuse. Si vous cherchez à commencer le Taekwondo, CTMA est l’endroit où aller ! On vous enseignera par les meilleurs et vous apprendrez des meilleurs, en développant le respect et la fierté pour l’art qui vous est enseigné. C’est assez difficile au début, mais je vous assure que vous ne regretterez pas d’avoir choisi ce dojang. Il y a bien plus à accomplir, n’abandonnez jamais et donnez toujours le meilleur de vous-même. Vous regarderez en arrière et réaliserez à quel point vous avez progressé et réussi.
