I had 2 friendly conversations with people and happened to mention to Caitlin (the manager) that I liked her tattoos and she asked me to leave and never come back. Age discrimination because I happen to be 44. I am a father of three. I have two daughters and one son with ages ranging from 16 to 8. I’ve been married for 20 years. I am a professional software engineer and I went there to do some work. I’m also a friendly person and I had a couple conversations. I also had a conversation with the bartenders, and it was a friendly conversation. The manager Caitlin literally followed me outside and threatened to call the police. I live in Georgetown with my family. I have no record. I don’t have so much as a speeding ticket on my record. It is absurd that she would threaten to call the police because I needed to do some work and I had a couple friendly conversations. The last person I talked to before I was asked to leave was someone I was talking to you about tattoos because I’m considering getting the first tattoo I’ve ever had and we had a very friendly conversation then the manager walked up to me and told me I was disturbing customers. I asked her if she wanted to ask the woman I was just speaking to if I disturbed her because I knew for a fact I did not. We spoke for 2.5 minutes and then I walked off to allow her to continue working. Caitlin was not interested in asking her if I disturbed her. She said no so she demonstrably had no rationale for saying that I was disturbing customers. I asked if I was banned for life and she said yes. This is completely absurd and if I don’t manage to mount a lawsuit against them, someone else should. If anyone looks like they probably have a criminal record, it’s Caitlin, who you can see the manager who you can see in the pictures I posted.
Literally such a hidden gem. One of our friends who is a local raved ahoy this place. The lemonade was literally the best most refreshing beverage. The coffee was also good (for an Australian standard) the vibes were so so chill. Lots of people here were working or just chilling with a book. The taco food truck was very good also.
My son took me here for my b'day. Man I loved it. Great atmosphere. It's a cool spot to do homework or just chill and have something to eat.
Cosmic is one of my favorite places to hang out in Austin and a spot I recommend constantly. The atmosphere is unbeatable. Laid back, lively, yet relaxing all at once. It is the kind of place you can linger for hours without feeling rushed, whether you are meeting friends or just enjoying the space. The drinks are fantastic and clearly fresh made, not syrupy or overly sweet. Great selection of tap beers & ales (please bring back the Moon Tower & the sour ales!!!) Everything feels thoughtfully done and intentional (like the herbs they use grown on site, chicken coop on site), which is harder to find than it should be. The food truck lineup is also excellent, with Wow Poke being the standout for me. Easily one of the best poke bowls around and the perfect pairing with a drink outside. Great place to bring kids to let them get some wiggles out. I have met many mom friends that I still keep up with here! Cosmic nails the Austin vibe in the best way. Great atmosphere, great drinks, great food options, and consistently good energy. New redesign is awesome. An easy repeat and one of those places that makes Austin feel like Austin.
I recently came here for my first time for a client meeting on a Sunday morning. It was early enough where parking wasn’t a problem. There were plenty of tables and seating areas to pick from. The right side is mostly the seating areas for drinks and the left side is mostly for the food truck seating. You can walk up to the bar and it is nice and air conditioned. There are seating areas in the air conditioned as well. There are so many drink options to choose from. It is both a bar and a coffee shop in one. The cashier was very friendly and let me know my order would be called when ready. Once I got my coffee I found a picnic table with shade and enjoyed the waterfall sound next their fish pond. It is was the perfect spot for my meeting. Price is fair and I will definitely be returning. I do believe there is a parking problem for the later crowds and people were waiting for my parking as I left.
