Crossroads Trading à Oakland offre une expérience de friperie propre et bien entretenue, avec un inventaire trié par style et par type et des présentations coordonnées par couleur. Les prix sont clairement affichés, de nombreux articles à moitié prix, et les pièces plus chères restent derrière le comptoir. Certains commentateurs notent que le nouvel espace paraît plus petit et moins ordonné, mais le magasin conserve une solide sélection de pièces de seconde main à la mode.

Drove 30 minutes to this location just to have them tell me they are only accepting a current season right now of clothes, THEY SHOULD REALLY PUT THAT KIND OF STUFF ON THEIR WEBSITE, especially considering they offer a mail in option for your clothes. They should be VERY specific. I thought this was going to be like any other cash on spot store...most of them take ANY season, ANY day. This store was the exception.
Crossroads is great for a clean & high quality ‘thrifting’ experience. It’s closer to a Berkeley garage sale imo- higher prices than a regular thrift store but fun & well kept clothing. They separate their items by style & type of clothing (active wear vs sweaters vs casual wear, etc) which really helps me focus on what I might be looking for! I also really appreciate the color coordination as well. Pricing is clearly marked & there are a good amount of half priced items as well. Some items, like the sunglasses ($16 each) are all the same price. They keep their pricier/designer items behind the counter and/or in the locked cases by the registers. I appreciate that the store is well kept & the clothes are maintained and sorted for a pleasant shopping experience. I will say that the two times I’ve gone, I’ve had a poor customer service experience. Both times, the cashiers didn’t notice us in line for awhile. Both times they were all either chatting with each other or on their phones. Once they even looked at us and didn’t ask why we were standing in the area marked as the line… I totally get that it’s a thrift store & lots of the employees are college students, but some professionalism would be appreciated.
Don’t bother taking in your clothes here. They won’t even look through your stuff if you have more than a bag. The cashier told me they were looking for fall styles and suitable brands. They then only found two tee shirts they could “resell” even though I had high quality north face sweater, Levi’s, and Calvin Klein fall clothes. Do not waste your time here, the thrift shop is better with better prices for shopping.
I’m so upset. No drinks allowed is fine but me and my friend left ours on the designated drinks bench and we come back and they were spilled all over the floor. Drinks were wasted and they were from and expensive coffee shop. Worker who spilled didn’t even apologize. And the drinks were full
I’ve been a longtime shopper at Crossroads and was curious to check out their new Oakland location after the recent move. Unfortunately, I have to say the new space feels like a downgrade in some ways. It’s noticeably smaller, and the layout feels a bit cramped and less organized compared to their previous spot. The store was also messier than I’m used to, which made browsing a little frustrating. I get that they're still trying to get their groove and organize themselves so I'll continue to check them out. One of the biggest changes I noticed is the pricing. Most items seem to be about 20–25% more expensive now, with many pieces priced around $10 higher than I would’ve expected from past experience. For a store that specializes in used and secondhand clothing, the jump in prices is definitely noticeable and might turn off some regulars looking for a good deal. That said, the store still has a solid selection of clothing. I found some interesting, trendy, and higher-end pieces during my visit, so the quality of the inventory hasn’t taken a hit—which is a relief. If you’re patient and willing to sift through the racks, you can still score some good finds. I found a fantastic leather and wicker satchel and a gorgeous pair of leather boots from Spain for 1/2 off. Overall, while I’m glad Crossroads is still operating in Oakland, the new location doesn’t quite live up to the vibe and value of the old one. Here’s hoping they get more settled and return to the level of organization and pricing that made them a favorite in the first place.
