I can’t say enough good things about this place. They offer affordable and flexible classes, train youth for leadership roles, and prioritize making their spaces accessible and welcoming for people of ALL abilities. My kids have gained skills here that go far beyond martial arts: practicing self regulation, building connection, and making space for kids going through challenging times. Their motto of "training with kindness, bravery, and determination” isn’t just lip service, It’s reflected in their support for LGBTQ+ families, kids with special needs, and community members in crisis. DMA has always felt like more of a community we belong to, rather than a business we patronize. We love what the new, bigger location has to offer, and we’re excited to see how DMA continues to grow and serve the community.
The absolute best place to send your kids. For martial arts or anything else.
I can’t say enough positive things about DMA. We (happily) drive to the other side of Hamilton just so my kids can experience their classes! Each staff member has been welcoming, patient, encouraging, and inclusive. Even when one of my kids is having a REALLY tough day, they approach the situation with such grace and care. While their classes masterfully balance technical skill and kids having fun, the way this place operates outside of the classes is remarkable as well. Their fostering of community, the commitment to their students, and their overall vibe is just heartwarming.
We love this place. Our child loves this place. The instructors are all so friendly and great with all the kids. I can't say enough good things about determination
My wife and our children have been clients for about 6 years and let me tell you Emily does not treat us customers/clients, she treats us like FAMILY. We’re so happy that our children have an ally and someone to look up to other than us. I highly recommend DMA and the whole crew that works there is absolutely amazing. DMA is an absolute gem in the community!
