If I could give them 0 stars I would. Oh my gosh the worst customer service and it starts with the manager Camilla and with the receptionist. I accidentally made an appt for the wrong date ( just off by one day) called to clarify and see if they would honor me coming in next day same time. Receptionist stated, sorry if you would've called and made an appt instead of online we could waive no show fee. I than asked to speak to the manager Camilla and she stated she would need to speak to the owner and see if she could honor this but stated she's extremely busy and has no idea when she would actually speak to the owner with bad attitude & tone of voice. I than asked could they just charge me for a cancelation fee as I am trying to go again today (next day) but would not feel right paying $160 for a blow out and she quickly responded with okay sure I can do that and will reimburse you $50. Mind you cancelation fee is $25 not $30. She clearly lied about having to talk with the owner and tried to be dissmissive. I did come to my appt today only because it was short notice and they had availability. I show up and receptionist again rude says I already marked you as a no show and I stated ive been waiting here for 5 mins without getting checked in. So they are quick to mark you as no show to charge all these extra fees but can't acknowledge you at your appt time, ridiculous!! I've been coming here for years and this location has definitely gone down hill. This will be my last time I do any business with drybar and will be getting my hair done elsewhere!
Ashley is incredible! I’m a regular at Drybar and always book with her - she’s talented, consistent, and makes every visit a great experience. My blowouts always look perfect and last. Highly recommend Ashley if you want the best.
The Del Mar Drybar location is great! I absolutely love Megan and request her for every visit. Coordination of appointments is easy with the website or through text. The salon is clean, and they always make a point to make the space festive for each holiday. I also like the scents for the shampoos/conditioners they use. Definitely recommend for a special event or just to have an amazing blow out that lasts several days!
McKinley is MY GO TO STYLIST!I’ve been a member for 15 years from Dallas to Del Mar!!!! High Standards to say the least ! She’s understands hair texture and products that truly effect the desired outcome and texture your counting on! Shes a pro someone who knows which brush benefits your result when and when not to use an iron. My hair is fine thick and very curly… so I am a client that understands how to work with it! Shes dependable fun to spend time with and truly cares about her clients! She’s become family !!!! 5 stars for McKinley. Hey girl never give away my standing appointment!
I always come to this Dry Bar location, and I’ve been to many other Dry Bars as well. I’ve never experienced anything as unprofessional as what happened today. I booked a blowout and clearly noted that I have extensions, which I always do. I have the same amount of hair every time, so the timing has never been an issue anywhere else. The stylist today worked VERY slowly, which is not my responsibility. I agreed to pay the standard blowout price plus the usual extension fee, but I should not be charged extra because the stylist took longer than necessary. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the owner's son at the front desk spoke to me with complete rudeness. The owner herself was sitting there getting her own hair done, coaching him on what to say. To make things worse, they charged my card for the "extra time" without my approval. That alone is unacceptable. The lack of professionalism and basic respect here was shocking. No client should have their card charged without consent or be spoken to the way I was. There are far better salons in San Diego that actually value their customers.
