Recently did Darkness Falls here and was a great experience. High quality room, challenging but fair puzzles. Horror themed but not necessarily scary. We had a larger group of 9 people and this room worked perfectly as there is a moment where teams can split up to complete different sections of the room to progress to the final section. Would definitely recommend!
We had a blast solving puzzles at at Escape Games Melbourne! We played the Darkness Falls room and I can assure you that it was by far the most enjoyable escape room we have done in Australia. It was a premium experience, very well designed and the puzzles were super creative. It had lots of special effects and certain elements that we haven't seen in any other escape room. This room was full of wow effects that kept us on our toes. The game masters were very friendly and professional at the same time. They managed to keep us on track without overwhelming us with clues, something that we have experienced visiting other escape rooms. We still have 2 more rooms to try before we complete all the 4 themed rooms at this location. We already played End of Days and Darkness falls. Next time we are planning to go for Raven Hill and Motel!
The concept for the escape room was really cool. The riddles were at a good level of difficulty but there was the option to ask for hints if you got stuck. Great for a decent sized group and really fun.
Had a bit of a mixed experience here. The worker told the story in a great way and explained things well, however she was a bit sharp in other ways. We were about 10 mins late and she told us she had to start the timer a few minutes short, which we happily accepted as it was our fault, however she did bring it up another time after this and seemed a bit annoyed. We then really enjoyed the room, the puzzles were great with a good challenge. However a cupboard that wasn't meant to be open, was open. So we found a clue earlier than we should have and escaped just over 5 mins early, but without completing a good number of the clues. We asked about the things we missed, and the worker took us through some of them and explained, however then hurried us out with over a minute left on our clock saying that she needed to reset the room for the next people. We likely wouldn't have finished in the time we had left but it was a shame we weren't able to see how far we were able to get properly.
We did Raven Hill and I thought it was ok. There was a good mix of different types of puzzles but a few things I didn't like. The setting music was too loud and although darkness is atmospheric it can impeade the unlocking of padlocks if a torch has to also be held. Also the movie was an annoying distraction and time waster. A few puzzles were too subtle( scratches) or not working ( screw & map) and I hated a double locked cabinet as it negates the first solution. Parking was difficult to get a nearby street spot and I would love to see a better photo opportunity for completion of rooms.
