We recently visited this escape room in Oakland and played The Spy, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The place was very well maintained, and the room had a great mix of mystery and technology that kept us fully engaged throughout. The puzzles were extremely well thought out—challenging, clever, and genuinely fun. They really had us cracking our brains for a full hour! Unfortunately, we couldn’t complete the room and fell just a few minutes short of solving the final clue, but that only made the experience more thrilling and memorable. A special shoutout to Shawn, our host and guide. He was fantastic—explained everything clearly at the start, kept an eye on our progress, and gave us just the right amount of hints to keep us moving without giving anything away. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys smart puzzles, teamwork, and an immersive escape room experience. We’ll definitely be back to try another room!
We played The Alchemist as a group with only one person who had done an escape room before. Great overall experience even though we did request clues. Wes was fantastic at getting us oriented and let us know we could leave through the entrance at any time (so no feeling trapped) as we worked through the two room puzzle to the official exit. Would definitely return to try another room.
We had a great time at Escape Oakland. My partner and I love doing escape rooms and this was our first time at this establishment. We did the Society room and had a blast!! Thank you to Julio for being our GM :D Will be back again!
We had a great time. The puzzles were interesting and just challenging enough for everyone to enjoy participating. We had teens and adults. We particularly appreciated our guide. Definitely would go again!
Awesome, interactive, and great staff!! Just got done with the spy game tonight. Our host, Shawn, was super friendly, helpful, and great to interact with! I felt that the puzzles were very well thought out and pretty challenging- just what you want in an escape room. We were also directed to the bathrooms immediately which I felt was really thoughtful on shawn’s part. Try something new, give this place a try. You won’t regret it! Thank you shawn for giving us such a great experience!! Hope to be back soon!!
