Great service, great selection, reasonable prices

This store has very poor inventory management and communication. On November 8, I came in to buy a bottle of champagne that showed as in stock online and available for pickup. I drove 30 minutes during rush hour, only to be told it was actually out of stock. The manager, Matt, told me to place an online order because they were expecting more inventory the following week, and he assured me that he would hold one for me as a priority. I placed the order right there in the store, it was approved, and my card was charged. Matt told me I could pick it up any date and time after the selected pick time once the order was approved - they will hold the bottle for me cause that’s something I’ve reserved and paid. However, when I called in today to pick it up, the staff told m they were out of stock again, and they had to cancel my order. I’m very unhappy for two reasons: 1. Matt told me he would prioritize my order once new stock arrived. The staff told me they did receive some bottles last week, but since I came later, they didn’t have any left. This makes no sense because my order was placed, approved, and charged before the new stock even arrived — it should have been reserved for me as promised. 2. It has been 10 days since I placed and paid for my order. No one reached out to me proactively at any point. If I hadn’t come in myself, I would have had no update at all. They were holding more than $300 of my money without securing the item or providing any communication. Overall, this was a very frustrating and unprofessional experience.
They have hard to find bottles from all major global regions. Prices are high relative to big box wine stores, though their selection is better since they don’t sell in-house labels.
Large and impressive selection of wine and spirits. Email alerts on special pricing and vintages. Very helpful staff. In store tastings are a lot of fun.
