My husband and I totally love this studio. The people are so friendly and supportive! Nico and Hanna, along with many other instructors are very professional and helpful in teaching many styles dance. This Is one of the best ways to connect with people get exercise and learn new skills💕
I started ballroom dancing at Fred Astaire Ahwatukee just 3 months ago in preparation for a wonderful "Dancing With the Stars" charity event where the studio partners with Armer Foundation for Kids to raise money for children with life altering medical conditions. From Day 1, every instructor and staff member was warm and encouraging. They greet you by name every time. I was partnered with Nico, who is patient, diligent, knowledgable and fun . He gave me challenging choreography and spent time perfecting my steps (oh, and we ended up taking home the Mirrorball trophy as grand champions at the charity event!) all the while being supportive and positive. I've actually never heard a negative word out of anyone at the studio. They share in your successes and will make you feel like a rock star every time you take the dance floor. I've recently been taking additional lessons with Mateusz, who is hilarious and always puts me at ease, even when I forget my dance steps. Thanks to Nico and Mateusz I've made real progress in learning ballroom dance, which was always a dream of mine. Fred Astaire Ahwatukee offers private lessons, group lessons on a variety of dances and really fun parties where you can meet other students and practice what you've been learning, as well as have informal performances. When I first started, I was told it was a family at the studio and I'll admit I scoffed a bit as that characterization seems ubiquitous these days. However, it's not just sales puffing. The teachers and staff work hard to create an atmosphere where, regardless of your ability, you feel like you belong.
I’ve had the pleasure of taking lessons at this ballroom dancing studio, and I can confidently say Mr, Nico and Mr. Matteyush, my instructors as well as all the others are exceptional. Their patience and kindness create a welcoming environment not only for me but also for all others. They possess deep knowledge of dance techniques and always break things down in an easy-to-understand way, ensuring progress is made at a comfortable pace. Personally, I have grown more confident and self-assured in my dancing which has been a dream for a very long time. The friendly and supportive atmosphere makes learning fun, and I always look forward to my next class. Highly recommend the Fred Astaire Ahwatukee Studio to anyone!
AMAZING STUDIO! When I walked in for my first lesson I was blown away by the warm and inviting atmosphere! Literally every instructor and staff member made the time to welcome me and introduce themselves. I’ve been to many dance studios and never experienced this! The dance floor and whole studio is also beautiful, and overall definitely a professional atmosphere. Everyone was dressed very elegantly, and you can tell the instructors both take their positions seriously and at the same time really enjoy what they do! I had a lesson with Kayla who taught me some new things! This was my first ballroom class and I felt very comfortable and excited to learn - we had a ton of fun! Also she had me escort her out to the dance floor - thought that was a really cool touch and makes you feel like you are a true ballroom dancer! Even if it’s just your first time haha ;) They also have community events and I am looking forward to going to the chili cook off this week and meeting some new friends! Did I add that they even have a fancy water machine with 7 times filtered water!? If you want to learn to dance from the best in the biz then this is the place to be!
My new husband and I wanted to work on our dancing skills for our wedding and spent a few months taking dance lessons with Fred Astaire Dance Studios here in Ahwatukee. Our wonderful instructors, Nico and Anastasia, helped us go from learning basic dance skills to helping us with choreography for our wedding dance. The result was that we had the wedding dance of our dreams that will live on forever in our memories. We enjoyed everything about the learning process from learning a basic Rhumba, Waltz, and Foxtrot to more social dances. We enjoyed attending the themed dance practice parties on Thursdays which also gave us another opportunity to practice and dance with other people at the studio. We had so much fun I think we’re going to continue attending. Thank you Nico and Anastasia for helping us with such a beautiful and fun wedding dance and thank you to everyone at Fred Astaire Ahwatukee for welcoming us with open arms. I guess we have a new hobby now. :)
