Amazing time. Sweetest owners that enjoy educating and conversing with customers. Nice tasting wines. Delicious empanadas .
We were out here in Spring visiting family. My wife and I are from California’s wine country. I had looked up wineries before our trip and wanted to do a tasting at Gadela because of some of the wines that I’ve never tasted before. When we first showed up I was a little skeptical because I saw no vineyard. I was a house in a rural residential neighborhood. As we entered we were surprised. We were greeted by Franco and Vinny. They were very polite and friendly. 3 of the 4 of us were going to do the tasting. As Franco told us about the history of the house and winery plus about the wines my wife decided she wanted to do at tasting too. We each pick our 5 and shared a little too. We all had our favorites and ended up buying several bottles. Franco was very knowledgeable about the wines and was fun chatting with along with Vinny and the other regulars that were there. We will definitely be back on our next trip. I did leave a couple of my cork creations I make as a thank you.
Great place to visit for good wine, good conversation, and good people. The winemaker there really knows his stuff and is a treat to visit with. He's also an ordained deacon and was kind enough to give me and my wife the Church's blessing before we left. We loved the entire experience
Discovered this Winery lounge not too far from our home and what a delight it is. Upon entering this converted 2 story home we were immediately greeted by the owner Brenda who welcomed us and made us feel right at "Home!" She gave us a brief history of this pleasant establishment and afterwards introduced us to the process of choosing a wine suitable to our palette. To be honest with you, what drew my wife and I to Galeda's was their assortment of empanadas, especially the ones from Puerto Rico. They also had empanadas from Colombia and Argentina. After choosing a red blend Kerubim bottle of wine 🍷 which was absolutely delicious, we ordered the full gamit of all the empanadas. They were all delicious, especially the empanadas from Puerto Rico. Brenda's husband Franco, also greeted us and treated us like family. The place is truly a gem, decorated in good taste. We felt as comfortable as if we were in our own home. If you're looking for a place that offers great hospitality and comfort, along with excellent wine choices, then Galeda Winery is the place to be. Warm and inviting, it's romantic and charming. We had a great time and have already made plans to return. Highly Recommend... Highly!
We visited this place, and what a wonderful, and pleasant surprise. Franco a wine lover at heart, and his super loving supportive wife Brenda welcomed us into their adventure. Spending over three hours wine tasting, talking to guests (Lon & Sandy), and learning how the hobby became part of this beautiful community of Wine loving Boutiques in Texas, was the best thing we could ever done yesterday. Brenda shared their interesting beginnings in the business, and Franco let us dig on his knowledge as he shared past, present and future taste endeavors. The couple, with Nicaraguan-Venezuelan background and her strong Puerto Rican influence make a unique wine maker combination. Their taste pallets are unique, and it shows. Franco has been able to develop explosive flavors on both dry and sweet exclusive grapes, rarely seen by us in this part of town. In our humble opinion they are extraordinary. On the sweet red pallet, the Serafin (Port Style) is a must have. On the whites, the Brisa is the go-to. We purchased a bottle of each. All are good, and other alternatives will be the Kerubim, Nebbiolo, and the Pettit Sirah. There is something exquisite for every individual taste. Come open minded, this is a place for free spirit, explorer like individuals looking for wine taste pleasant challenges. Gadela Winery is a hidden secret that taste hoarders wished to keep for themselves, but not anymore. My recommendation, you should try it before they have to place flow controls on their entry door. Thanks Brenda and Franco for such pleasant find.
